Graz

 Europe » Austria » Styria » Graz
Hi dudes, We took a train from Vienna the day after Jess' dance audition, to Graz. It was a very beautiful train ride, lasting about 3 hours and went mainly through mountains and valleys. It was a sunny day but the mountains in the distance had snow covering their peaks. The countryside was how you would imagine old Austria to be, pity Graz isnt. Our first impressions of Graz was that it was Austria's version of Ballarat and it took us a few days to start liking it. The uni (Jazz department) where I will be studying is an extremely boring [View Full Entry]

Schloss Schonnbrun
This is part of the palace written about in the blog.
We made it to Vienna, the bus trip was fine, probably the most comfortable long distance trip we have done. Jess and I completed the whole X-Men Trilogy on DVD (on my I-Pod) and spent a lot of time eating, sleeping, and watching the sights of the towns we passed by. We took a bus from London to Dover, a ferry from Dover (bottom of England) to Calais in France, then up to Brussels in Belgium which was a cool quirky town, then through Germany, onto Vienna - Austria, through Linz. Whilst cruizing through Germany in the night we were randomly [View Full Entry]

Go Brother Jim!!!!
This is the hometown of my Grandparents and my Mum. We caught the train up to Leeds (approx 3 hours) after a few days in London and were picked up at the train-station by Muriel (Grandma's cousin) and her daughter Karen. We drove about 10 mins to get to Pudsey and it is a great little town. The housing looks very different to back home, with most houses that look the size of one house being split into two to make two houses. So they are pretty small places and took a bit of adjusting too. We met heaps of my [View Full Entry]

London After our killer stopover in Dubai Andrew and I were exhausted. We picked up our bags and managed to navigate the 'tube' arriving in Walthamstow by about 9.30am. I had organised for us to stay with friends Caroline, Jill and Jacqui for a couple of nights and we were to ring them when we arrived, however no ones phones were connected. We decided to try find the house by ourselves and while walking down one of the lanes we ran into Jill!! This is the crazy bit.....Caroline had up and left back to Australia and forgot to let us know [View Full Entry]

Greetings. We finally have left Geelong/Yarram and completed our five days in Singapore. We managed to fit in most tourist attractions while there and did our fair share of sweating in the stupid humidity. We went to: DAY 1 - Got in at 5:30am after being in transit for about 12hrs so we took a taxi to Mark and Tracey's house, met Mark, then crashed until about 12pm. Then we went out to Sentosa (an island underneath the mainland of Singapore) which had a kind of theme park mainly aimed at tourists. We went super fast down a massive hill on [View Full Entry]

I forgot to write that we are sitting next to an unattended bag. So, being alert and not alarmed, I cruised over to the cleaner and let him know. He kindly shrugged his shoulders and said go buy some duty free. We continued to sit next to it so we could get wireless internet and send you all that last email. Hope you appreciate it! We are outta here...................... ps no photos because jess' camera cord is in the checked in luggage. will post later [View Full Entry]

On the hot streets of Dubai next to their main creek. Awesome.
Dubai - arrive 5:30am after a 7 hour flight from singapore. We have a connecting flight that is . . . . . 22 hours later. Death. Did i write that already in the last blog? i cant remember. Probably because it was 22 HOURS AGO!! Luckily we got to leave the airport (we actually got a 60 day visa so when supplies are running low we will come back here and stock up on their mega cheap duty free booze amongst other things) and caught a bus to their main city bit. It definately wasn't their upper class rich area [View Full Entry]
