I went tehre two years ago and LOVED it. I hope it doesn't get too Touristy. We also checked out the Julian Alps, which were beautiful and went caving lower down south. Anyways, loved your picture from Lake Bled. Did you hike to the top and see the full view?

Berlin ist gut.
Hi I visited Berlin two years ago and loved it. The city is undergoing such transformation since the wall came down. A beautiful city, steeped in history both dark and enlightened. The Berliners, like all Germans, have faced up to the legacy of the Third Reich as the memorials in the city testify. At the same time they are no longer ashamed to be Germans. Long Live Berlin.

Mat you need to come home immediately......taking risks like that! Where were the ropes and signs, the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff, do they have ACC? Have you contracted water on the brain syndrome...common in wetter climates! Is your health insurance still active? Keane to hear if you survived the trip! Roy.

Hi guys
Hi there. Good to read about your trip all over and especially to Hungary. Just to explain the name "Enter Privates": some years ago we ran an other hostel called Enter Hostel. But when we moved and had only private rooms we decided to change the name a little. I understand that it can have other meanings... Wish you both a happy new year! Gabor from Hungary

Easy as. From Ljubljana you just hop on a bus at the main bus station (7 Euro) and two hours later you are in Bled. Very similar for Piran. No need for tours.

travel in Slovenia
Hello, can I just ask how easy it was to travel in the country? Especially to Lake Bled and Piran? Is is expensive? I am travelling with my son in a months time, flying into Ljubljana and I don't want to do tours, I would rather travel myself. I really want to see lake Bled. Thanks!

LOL at the first line of your blog. That is a bit like my reaction when I read a book set in Ljubljana. Soon after that I was amazed to see a dirt cheap special offer train ticket advertised, to Ljubljans from Munich where I live. So, I went there. :D

Have fun
Hi Matt, nice to see that you're having fun here. Just one little note: The turks where not hired to clean up berlin, that was mainly done by german women (the so called Trümmerfrauen), they where hired to support the economy in the early 1960s when germany lacked of workers. Sincerely Thomas
