Happy Mothers Day Just a quick note to wish you a happy mothers day!
Sounds like you are having a ball over there..........
See you soon,
Lots of love Cris
Great pictures Thanks for your recent blog which we found very entertaining.
Sounds as if you are continuing to have a great time. I must say, when you first told me you were going to do volunteer work at an orphanage, I imagined it being a very sad, dark place. Obviously it is not what I imagined!
Everything is going well here...Bruce is in Toronto for a quick visit, back tomorrow. Colin and Pat are in Palm Springs again this month. Tony and Pat are well and Tony is going to retire at the end of June. Not much new with Maurice but he is keeping well and is enjoying life.
Claire is still in training for running in a marathon in May....she has already done a half marathon in 2 hrs. 3 mins. (I may have already told you this, please excuse!). The children are on spring break here right now so we have been busy with them this week. Took Sophie and Rowen to the Vancouver Aquarium on Moday.
Looking forward to your next blog!!
Lots of Love,
Gilly xo
Hiya girlfriend Well, life looks really tough out there and I bet you're begging to come home (not)! It's absolutely freezing here - spent a seriously cold weekend in Brighton with Ian despite brilliant sunshine - froze our nuts off...
5 weeks today until we head off on our trip to St Lucia girlfriend - can't wait. Hope you're not too bored with the beach by then!
Back working in Essex until 9th April 3 days per week. You and Bob are invited to a party at Lisa's on the 10th so you can show off your tan before we head off on your next holiday...
Love to you both as always xxx
Making me itch reading about it! Hiya you two - great to hear your news and see the fabulous photographs. Lovely to be able to picture you in your surroundings. The kids are all so beautiful, I can see how you have fallen in love with them.
Shame you are having to consume so much alcohol, it must be a real trial for you both - not!!
Keep it coming bestest.

Hi Boozers Glad to hear from you again.
It still sounds like you are having fun although you are obviously working hard too. The children are all adorable - so beautiful and happy looking. They all look much cleaner than I had imagined. Probably a silly question but do they all live in the orphanage?
Everything is good with us. Kids are all great. Our Olympic games is coming to a close tomorrow unfortunately. It has been so enjoyable - much more so than I had imagined. Today there are several events we will be watchig on tv and tomorrow is the big Canada v USA mens ice hockey (so exciting). We won the women's gold medal ice hockey and our players all went and celebrated on the ice with champagne and cigars after the public left the arena - unfortunately the press were still hanging around and took photos of them. Nothing bad but they got a slap on the wrist from the Olympic committee for such terrible behaviour (give me a break!!). Claire was in Vancouver that day with friends at what we call Hockey House, or Molsen House, which is right next the the ice stadium where the game was being played (they have huge screens showing the game live). She got a little tipsy and had half the place up doing the 'conga' amongst other things. She also won a prize for dancing on her friend's shoulders (???).
Thanks for keeping us updated on all what's happening, we really enjoy hearing from you!!
Lots of Love, Jill xoxoxox
Don't bring one back Looks like you are both having fun. How can Bobby get headlice? With the look of his beard, it would have been chinlice. Looking forward to seeing you both next week. I have got Marrowfat peas and snickers bar.
No sympathy! Hiya to two of my favourite people. What an experience- so jealous..I bet the time is flying by and just be thankful that you are away from the bloody awful weather here. Hasn't stopped raining since Mum and I moved in last Wednesday - she is itching to get into the garden and frustrated at the murky weather.
The culture changes must seem quite shocking and 'child line' would be inundated if it existed where you are but I suspect that there is an exceptance that this is just how their lives are. Must be challenging not to get really personally involved with their plight especially when witnessing apparent neglect.
Missing you but feel part of your adventure via the blogs.
love to you both from Mum and I xx
Great Enjoyed your email and it sounds as if you are having a great time despite the heat. The children will always remember the good times with you both and I am beginning to think it will be very difficult for you to leave.
We are enjoying our bright, sunny even warm February and the winter Olympics in Vancouver. Claire, Todd and I went to Vancouver yesterday to check things out (also had Sophie and Rowen with us - Rowen was so excited as it was his first time on the skytrain). We met up with Maurice and had a really great time. We left Todd with Maurice and later Todd met up with his friend Larry and they watched a hockey game (Latvia v ?) and then on to Hockey House where Wayne Gretsky (one of the most famous Canadian hockey players ever), was making an appearance. Todd was thrilled to see him and actually got Wayne's autograph on his Canadain Olympic hockey shirt.
Looks as if Douglas and Ann may come over for a visit in May when we will be off to Palm Springs in our motorhome so that will be fun. We keep in touch every couple of weeks but have not seen them for almost 8 years.
That's all for now, looking forward to your next installment and be careful on those bikes!!
Love, Jill
PS. Maurice was asking about you both and was very interested to hear what you were doing. He sends his best wishes.
A Drop in the Bucket It's interesting to read about what you and Bob are doing. Coincidentally, a faculty member at Emerson College (where I work) has become involved with a project to dig wells to provide clean water for the people of Cambodia. She teaches photography at Emerson. She has made a short film about the project in Cambodia called A Drop in the Bucket, and she will be in Cambodia again in a couple of weeks to work on shooting a feature-length documentary about the project. The need there is so great, really heartbreaking, and it's extraordinary that for about $300 you can have a well dug that will provide clean water for many people who don't have it. Sometime you must let me know how you became involved in the work that you are doing; it sounds like a wonderful way to speak some of your retirement time.
Hello u 2 Lovely to read your blogs, as witty as usual. Horrible weather here, rainy and cold so enjoy the sun. We ha ve just returned from Spain and it was rather cold for the first few days and then warmed up around 18 deg. thereafter. Look forward to the next instalment and don't forget the pictures if possible, lovely to see you as well.
Love Patricia (and, of course, Joseph) xxx
Happy Anniversary Hi Lyn and Bob
It sounds as if you are both really enjoying your time at the orphanage and I am so proud of you both for getting out there and really helping someone out that really needs it.
I was thinking of you both on your anniversary. Is it 24 years now? My how times fly!!
Happy Valentine's day for today....it's Sunday morning, 8:30 am so Bruce is having a 'sleep in', I can't wait to get all my presents from him!! Just kidding....although he may (better have) something for me. Silly old romantic me got him some IRN BRU, a Fry's Chocolate Cream (not very healthy but it's a treat) and a card, plus I'm going to wake him up in the nude!!! hahaaa!
The Olympic Games started last Friday (which was also Sophie's 7th birthday), and it's been great watching it all on the tv. We did not get any tickets to see the games as we thought it would be so crowded etc. but have been watching lots of tv coverage. Mark and Stacey have tickets for Canada v Norway ice hockey on Tuesday. Colin and Pat are up at Whistler for the whole time of the Olympics so their family will all be joining them at one time or another while they are there. Lucky them - they actually won this trip.
Unfortunately for the Olympics, our weather has been unseasonably warm (even our grass needs cutting), so there is very little snow on the lower mountains. They have to truck snow in from wherever they can get it! Weird eh, and not very enviromental but what can you do?
Sorry to hear about Mr. Clifford, I hope he is doing better now. Say hi to Jaymes and Lauren.
I love getting your blogs so keep up the good work.
Love Jill xoxoxo
pre-schools Wish it was me! You need to model for pre-schools - that means you do it with them and show them how. For example drawing their friend, an animal, a piece of fruit, something from one of their story books - anything. A good rule is you have to become a child too! They will love you joining in with anything and talking to them to encouraging them. Enjoy!! Lots of love to you both. Love reading all about it.

GREAT START GIRLFRIEND Lovely to hear from you and know that everything is A OK so far. Bloody snowing here today guys, but not really settling this time. Completely cream crackered with all the packing but on the home straight.
Can't believe you passed on the cricket and frog experience, you may well succumb a little further into the experience.
Thinking of you both - keep it coming.
loveAnnexxxx
Bob At least you did not introduce him as your father ;) I should probley sit in on your class to improve my writting skills, but when it comes to coloring, I am sure to move quickly up to t advace.
Let me know if you need me to send some instant lipton.
Love you both Gigi
Glad you arrived safely I'm glad that you arrived safely and that you are getting adjusted to your new surroundings. I thought that you might be in a remote area, but it sounds quite urban with many restaurants and bars. I don't know if I mentioned to you that a faculty member at the college where I work has been helping digs wells in Cambodia and made a short film about the work that is being done there. It sounds like something that I would consider doing in retirement - a chance to help others and learn about a new culture. I'll be very interested to read about your experience there, and look forward to seeing you in late April in Kent to hear more about it.
