I note that it took you two years to publish this very personal blog... about the biggest questions in life. Is there a God, is He good, and does He love me? You have been promised "seek and you shall find; knock and the door shall be opened to you." I hope I can help you a bit in your search. You have rightly noted that mankind created religion...lots of them...in his attempts to fill that hole in his soul. He starts with what his conscience tells him is right and wrong...hence the similarities between religions concerning a moral code. However, it's really not about following rules and being good...we just aren't capable of that as you've experienced in you own life. So if we can't please God by being good, what can we do? I happen to believe in a Creator who made us in His image so that He could love us and we could love Him in return by our own free will. We do not have to earn His love by doing good and not doing bad...all we have to do is accept His love and respond as a human does when they fall in love with someone. It's all about a personal relationship...where we want to make the other person happy. I don't wish to "preach," but let me know if I can help further by sending me a private message.
Thank you for your comment. I'm always keen to hear other peoples opinion on the matter. Thank you for taking the time read my blog and most importantly to share your thoughts on this age old question in an open and supportive manner.
That's a great photo... Enjoyed reading your blog. Your connection with your sister on that hike to Mt. Sinai is touching. You got more "value" from this trip which I'm sure you'd treasure forever. Safe travels!
... I have goose bumps all over my body and tears in my eyes!! I was able to follow every step of your journey and could feel what you felt!! Thank you for that fantastic trip!!
I have been lucky and blessed to experience such a trip with The One myself and I would not exchange it for anything in the world!!
I hope you enjoyed every second of it coz you will remember it for the rest of your life!!
Love you, babe!! xx
Egypt without Egyptians I was suprised to see your "felt love for the two young boys" story, then your closing comment "Egypt is better without Egyptians". We have in our country, "bad and annoying people" yet I dont see too many blogs from travelers who blog "America would be better without Americans". Part of traveling the World is to embrace the challenges and annoyances it comes with. Its what World Travel is about. Especially in a country where the economy is down 60%. Tourism is the livelyhood of many Egyptians. The agressive selling and tricks are just a way for the locals to stay ahead of their competetor until things pick up. :) thanks for reading my comment. I look forward to your next blog. Your next adventure. I love Egypt. Planning my 3rd trip.
Egypt without Egyptians Hi Noreen,
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, I can also see the mixed emotions in my experience. I found Aswan and Luxor slightly more manageable than Cairo, unfortunately my last few days were in Cairo and the days really left me with a poor taste in my mouth. I was subjected to so much rudeness, vulgarity, verbal violence and unwanted sexual advances, to myself and my younger sister.
There are so many beautiful aspects of Egypt, and this includes places, culture and people, unfortunately, these positives were marred by the negatives which overshadowed the beauty Egypt had to offer.
I felt so sad leaving the country where so many people struggle (like Mohammed) and there is no support network offered by the government, this sadness turned to anger in Cairo and you can clearly see the bitterness in my writing – perhaps I should have waited a day or two to recount my trip.
Thank you again for taking the time to comment, I really enjoy reading your opinion. Safe travels for your 3rd adventure, I hope to read your own blog at this time!

Sad... Babe, it is hard but unfortunatelly true! It happens all over the world and one is just heartbroken!! But to change this, the world has to change, people have to open their eyes and their hearts!!
Pteromerhanophobia Hey! you should know that there's a lot of people feeling like you, and a lot of possible help programs/lectures/DVD's directed to deal with that phobia... there's even an iphone app!

Does this date work for you? Oh Cate, how many people in their lives have a deep and meaningful relationship? and think it will last forever? I'm thinking of you......
Hi Cate, I did without an oven and a bath for 15 years. Eventully got the bath and used it for the first time the other day and didn't like it!!!! The plug hole is where my bum hole is.....and it's too deep, so you can't relax in it.
The unforeseen time line Well Cate, you've got a hard choice, but the way I see it is - if you don't do what you want to now, you'll regret it down the track. Keep on keeping on. Love V

drinking becomes a problem when it has negative affects on your life when u notice friend commenting or removing themself from your company , When ur work is affected and your health starts to decline and when u put your health at risk. you can change this or u can find drunker friends to justify your excessive drinking love u mum
Drinking Firstly in facing a problem is to admit you have a problem. Big step. You're a strong girl, try to lessen the intake. Think how much money you'll save. I too drink ever day!!! I ain't no preacher.

Are you really ever ready to travel, it seems that there was always something or someone holding me back, even now, I'm working in a good position, have a great little house in the city, have great friends, a promising relationship, and an amazing social life, but after true reflection, that something was trepidation, and the someone, me. After years of procrastination it was time to bite the bullet, pushing all the things aside that were my excuse for waiting, I bought a one way ticket to London. I mean, all those things will be here when I get back... right???
