Fantastic I was just doing a bit of hunting around to find the places I visited in Tanzania
Me and my party passed through Milingano on our way to Yamba up the mountains. We played a game of football with the villagers :)
Thanks for the update! They might be distant memories to you, but it's exciting to see your photos for the first time for us! I loved the look of the little hut by Lake Victoria - was it just one round room inside? I hope the transition from travel to work isn't too abrubt for you :)
You really are a star you know, Laura. I could never do a tenth of this, and not merely because of the lack of running water and hairdryers! I hope London is not too depressing to return to. Looking forward to seeing you. x
Laura, what an amazing time you seem to be having! Thanks for describing it in such glorious detail, it's so interesting to read about your adventures. I'm especially pleased to hear you're spreading the knitting bug so far and wide!! Can't wait to see the pics!
Lots of love xx
Beutiful family and friends Those are a really nice photos, you look so happy and always with that beautiful smile!!!

Ta! Thank you so much for sharing all your stories and photos with us - I'm so glad to have been a small 'part' of your trip just by reading along :) Have a safe trip home and hope the weather and culture shock isn't too great!
Kayaking How funny, J and I did some kayaking round the island we were staying on opposite Dubrovnik in half term. It took us just 2 hrs, so not exactly the epic trip you describe! Also, I strongly suspect J was doing the lion's share of the paddling! a x
News from 'home' oooh now I wanna go kayaking! I don't know if you can really get homesick for it seeing as it's not 'home' for you, but I'm back in Australia now and loving being in Summer finally again. How good is it to feel SUN??!
Congratulations! Congratulations Laura - what a fantastic achievement! Enjoy the sight seeing. My bike fell off our bike rack yesterday and got mangled on the road - sniff!
Hey! Hey Laura,
Been enjoying reading your blog, though I did wonder where you disappeared to for the past couple of weeks, whether you got lost in the middle of the desert or eloped with a wealthy Californian! I remember walking that red bridge about 17 years ago, erk reminds me of my age xxx
Hope it's going well Lovely to read about your first few days when you could settle-in before the big journey. Hope the cycling itself is going well now and looking forward to reading about it soon. x
Great to hear all about the start of your adventures whilst I sit here at my desk in sunny Cardiff. Hope the 'real' cycling goes well!!
Lots of Love,
Amyx
Good luck! Hello Laura - and v. impressed by your blog! Just to say good luck on your travels (and all the organising before you go). Look forward to reading about what you're up to as you swan around the world!! Have a fantastic time - enjoy every minute of it.
love

Hello!
In August 2008, I left my job and flew to Seattle to embark on a 6-week cycle ride down the West Coast of the USA, with a group of 15 people, finishing in San Diego.
I made my way to La Paz, Mexico, for a week of sea kayaking, and then continued my travels in South Mexico, Belize and Guatemala, before flying home for Christmas.
In January, I set off again for Tanzania to take on a 3-month volunteer project, teaching in a rural village in the West Usambara Mountains, before travelling around the country for a further month. I flew home on 1st May 2009.
I hope you enjoy readin... full info
