Olivia's Blog Hi Everybody, I hope everyone is doing well, I miss you a lot. We are four weeks into our trip on an RV (we have named our RV the Deseado) Puerto Deseado is one of my favourite places so far because we went on an expedition. On the way to Isla Pinguino we saw Commerson and Austral Dolphins. The Commerson Dolphin is endangered and can only be found in Patagonia ( they look like mini Orcas) They were so close I touched one! When we arrived on the island we hiked around and saw Magellanic and Rockhopper Penguins, the reason that they are called Rockhopper is because they live in the rocks and hop everywhere, it's hilarious I could watch it all day. After a day of crazy long, stunningly beautiful drive we arrived at Chaiten. Driving in to Chaiten was like driving into a desolate ghost town, still in many places covered in ash. In 2008 Volcano Chaiten blew it's top......the town of was thankfully evacuated but the floods and ash destroyed much of the town. The town of Chaiten is a hub for taking ferries to the main land of Chile, there are a few different options for ferries but as we have discovered schedules change often and the ferry company closes at 2pm. We made it just before it closed and found out we had 3 options 1. turn back and go over the Argentine border again and then back into main land Chile 2. wait for 5 days in Chaiten to catch the big ferry ... read more

Right now we're driving through a valley with giant mountains on either side following a river, every time I look up I see unbelievable beauty! The babes are napping ( ahhh silence ) the beauty of RVing :) After almost a month of being away its hard to describe the feeling of reflection and joy.....feeling so connected and content, to quote good old Oprah....so many Aha moments. Staying as present in the moment as possible has being my biggest gift. I left with some expectations and at the same time no expectations.
