Thanks, I am thinking tentatively of a south-east-asian adventure at the start of 2014... Burma seems so untouched compared to the typical (tacky) tourist routes of its neighbours. I'd love to know what you thought of it in relation to the other countries (I see from your blogs that you did Cambodia, Thailand and Lao), and whether you found the non-touristy thing liberating, or just a hassle (because of lack of services, or internet, or hotels etc). I feel like I'll definitely do Cambodia and Thailand, but don't know whether it's still worth seeing Burma... Or any other tips, I'd be super grateful! (logged into my account now, I think you can private msg on here?) Kim :)

??.
This is fairly racist and offensive blog. The part about the UAE.

I am sorry to hear that you found this entry "racist and offensive." My blog is written in a tongue-in-cheek style. Perhaps this was lost on you? It is a completely truthful and accurate record of a version of events that took place on my trip to Dubai late last year. I feel that your statement "racist and offensive" would benefit from some evidence to support these claims which you have thrown around in a rather haphazard, unintelligent style. Many thanks.

Takes me back......
to amazing memories. And very impressed that you have already sussed how to cross the street - for most of our time in Vietnam I just closed my eyes when crossing, held on to B's hand and prayed (to Buddha, I guess!) that he knew what he was doing! Have you seen the shops selling face-masks in all sizes and colours - to protect against bird-flu or pollution?? Love the photo too x

C said he thinks God lives in Vietnam and looks after the traffic as they somehow manage to weave their way around each other - cars, tuk tuks, bikes, pedestrians - without any collision (so far!). I've not seen the facemasks but will keep an eye out. The photo was taken about an hour after we finally landed in Ho Chi Minh :-) xxx
