| 15th April 2009 chris | hey - From: OTAGO! Hey, The crackhouse on Eliot street is gone!! Nothing but rubble in a dumpster now. (It's safe to come home now.) Celebrate with us...ready, go! | 12th April 2009 Peter S. | Unpleasantness - From: Ko Chang- the sequel Just when did you leave Thailand? Assuming you two had nothing to do with the current civil unrest there? Sarah, you look well. But, Ely, you really ought to have someone with medical expertise take a look at those two white, stringy growths coming out of your ears. When's the last time you had you head examined? Best, Peter PS: Save the spiders; they eat mosquitoes. Take your malaria pills: little white ones daily and the big orange ones weekly. |
| 10th April 2009 Aunt Linda | Happy Birthday! - From: OTAGO! Many happy returns of your Birthday!! Hope it was a glorious one! Sorry I forgot yesterday - I've been thinking about it for a while and then let it slip by! Sending my love. Aunt Linda |

| 3rd April 2009 Jennifer | Can't view all the photos - From: Zenpukuji My husband and I will be moving there this fall, and your in the exact area! We are hoping to find a place in Moto Azabu Hills, and send our children to the Summerhill Preschool there. For some reason, I can't see all the photos you have posted. Example, one page says 38 views of Moto Azabu Hills, but only the first photo in the series is viewable. I am on a Mac. Would love to see them -especially the preschool area and the apartment building. Thanks, Jenn |
| 13th March 2009 LittleGidding | YAR!! - From: All the Pretty Horses Antarctic Alfredo! We be chillun our timbers up here in olde Spring Creek, with hail and sun slapping upside the noggins right aboot the same time! We hear y'all are experiencing freezling and shiverings tout suite! At least we have lemony sav blanc to stoke our hearts and tummies. We've been alearning the arts of serious organics up in this here valley--from turning elephantine compostia to insulating the bilge avec sheep wool, and were heartily rewarded for our troubles with four days of housesitting and no work! Ah yes, the pirate's life is a good one, ay, but doesn't oft avail her with a place to lay her mail. As soon as I get me one, I'll pass it along, good sir! Love to your ladyship and the grunts...we'll send word from further along the spit! |
| 9th March 2009 Rob | We have yr sun-glasses, snork-maiden. - From: All the Pretty Horses Hiya travelling dudes- hope the trip north went well. Did I mention they are all very tall, entish mermaids in Blenderheim? Never critise the wine, it is always perfect. We found some lovely sunglasses on the beach, next to an empty bottle of rum, and I have wrestled them from Alice's cold dead hands. If you want to nomimate a post-office, we can send them on. Otherwise Alice will lose them again herself, and some other lucky person will take their turn. |
| 24th February 2009 Peter S. | So............ - From: Under the Volcano You guys are having farrrrrrr toooooo much fun. I do hope that you are learning something. Upon your return, it is expected that you bring a cure for cancer, plan for world peace (at least in the Gaza strip) and/or a plan to reverse the U.S. economic slide towards depression (drugs not an option). Think of you every day. (Don't drink the (unfiltered) water). Love, Peter |
| 16th February 2009 Sally Coughlin | New Zealand - From: Erawan the Golden Van Hey guys, I'm glad you made it to N.Z. We spent three weeks there some years ago and loved it! What a great and interesting country, with so many different types of things to see, from lovely gardens to penguins! |

| 19th January 2009 amy Coughlin | Endurance & Compassion - From: Happy Phnew Year I was wondering how long it would be before I read an entry like this one. I remember that feeling of being covered in soot while traveling in India. The utter exhaustion and the guilty pleasure of seeking refuge to watch TV or eat food from a shiny origin rather than a street market reeking of sewage. You guys are amazing! Lots of Love! |
| 19th January 2009 amy Coughlin | Gorgeous! - From: 4,000 Years of Solace I want to be there with y'all! |
| 19th January 2009 Amy Coughlin | Why to burn? - From: Still Life with Elephants I have a guess as to why the Lao folk are always burning. In the moist and sunny climate, plants grow at a rate difficult to contain. Leaving piles of cleared brush can attract snakes and other critters to whom one may not want to offer hospitality. The smoke can offer an added benefit of keeping mosquitos and other blood-sucking, disease-carrying pests at bay. |

| 7th November 2008 kim | Miyazaki - From: Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea Simple animation or not, Miyazaki is a master. My family is addicted. Not only have we seen them all (once translated - subtitles too hard for my littlest one), but we also have a collection of the scores on CD which my son goes to sleep to. We all hum the tunes! Thannks for the head's up on the newest title! |
