well well well, we finally connect HI Charles, Happy New Year to you too! Im thrilled you found me on my old travelblog of all places. I e-mailed you a few times on my journey westward and about life in joshua tree (i can resend those) but Im guessing now that your old e-mail address I used is no longer in commission? Anna and I settled in Joshua Tree which has been a mixed bag of fate (havent been gainfully employed yet) but overall its a wonderful experience. This winter/ spring Im working with artist Andrea Zittel on establishing an intellectual and creative center in town thats in very beginning stages of development but is exciting (called High Desert Test Sites). Ive tracked a little of your adventures the past year from the alumni magazine etc. and I would love to hear how Two Golem has progressed. Im using my sarah lawrence e-mail (llawler@gm.slc.edu) whats your e-mail now? or we could arrange a phone chat if you like. best! laura

Hope you are fine and best wishes to you!

Wow---it sounds like you're having some really incredible day-to-day experiences! How did that "Village Museum" compare to that museum in DC that we ripped apart? :) I talked to Ariel today and we shared a moment of "aw wow, Laura's in Tanzania... " Keep up the posts... How is your school's library?
Bless your heart! That was really nice of you to spare the thief. I know how upsetting it can get being stolen from. Though I also avoid telling knowing the consequences the thief will face are just unimaginable. I saw a real picture of a man who was mobbed in Tanzania and it was really disturbing. By the way they later burn them to death after the stoning. I don't know whether this is still common theree , but in Kenya it is now not as bad. You also seem so smart getting around there laura :)

I have a farm cat with a 'bent neck' which sometimes is creepy. So I wonder how much creepier this one without an eye could be. I wouldn't be suprised if someone caused it, very 'anti-animals' out there. Keep writting, I'm reading and waiting for the pics.

This blog is to keep up on my semester abroad at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I hope its helpful and enjoyable to thos... full info
