Thanks for finishing blogging your trip... and I look forward to reading about your future trips. We visited South America in May and ended with a few days in Cancun...the south end away from all the bars. We enjoyed our visit there although Chichen Itza was hot and crowded. We'll have to try Isla Mujeres next time.
Hi! Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the blog and had a nice time in South America. Hope you get a chance to see Isla Mujeres next time! Best wishes, Laura
Cheese Although eating the same sandwiches for lunch everyday should only be admired by any non-savage being, cheese sandwiches are better than jam ones.
Possibly this is why your jam sandwiches were stolen. The wise Sandwich God gave you an opportunity to eat cheese sandwiches and you basically blew it...
The Wonders of the Internet ...it brings us instant information, the ability to overcome great boundaries in communication...and gives parents the ability to nag their children no matter where they are!! :P
Thinking of you yesterday when I came across a documentary about The Blue House so I just had to watch it ! Lots of info about Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera and lots of their art work including many of his murals. It was similar to the film but with real-life footage. Forgot to ask if you have been to visit the house ?
Love you lots xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Small Child lost at Airport It was very brave of you to go find the airport staff and tell them that you had lost your parents and needed help finding one of them.
I am also not jealous that you got to see an American football game, but I thought it prudent to mention that I have both your Xbox and Madden game and have found that you can now make money playing them through a new Virgin Gaming initiative, WHOS JEALOUS NOW??
Ola Hey there - keeping up with the usual high standards I am glad to read. It all sounds so truley amazing - you do like rocks and old buildings :-). You look lovely and healthy - good times all around hey. Have you thought of doing this for a living you would be brill for the Rough Guide Publications. So much more enjoyable than the standard boring stuff.
Take care - love Jo
Brilliant Blogging Hi Laura, sounds like you are having an amazing time and trying out lots of new things along the way. Your adventures are really interesting to read about and you sound very well organised. It 's hard to imagine you diving off boats and gadding about on motorbikes whilst we are traipsing to and from our dull old jobs from day to day. Keep up the good work! Love from us all. xxxx
Sounds great......! Sounds absolutely brilliant....but I think the Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer killer bloke should be locked up (loony bin or prison, whichever is nearest!)
Oh, and far too much alcohol being mentioned, young lady. Come home immediately and you are grounded for a week!
If you find a half decent PC again, with Skype, try calling whenever you can. I'll leave ours connected every evening we are in.
Luv ya

Not Jealous This week I built an ikea drawer unit and then decided which items of clothing shall go in which drawer. How do you like them apples?? I'll probably start a blog of my own.
Have been checking photos on facebook. Just about everything looks amazing (esp. the Titans game!!), so glad you're having a good time. I know you're in Colombia now, you'll love Cartagena. If you can go to the mud volcano, i think it's called El Totumo, that's great fun, but do be prepared for old women wash you (everywhere) and demand paying after. And San Gil (go to Gringo Mikes!!!!) and Tayrona National Park come highly recommended if you've got room for them in your itinerary.
Peace out / Rock Rock On.
The pictures of the Venetian indoors river look mental!
And thanks for putting the temperature in units for us that aren't American or OAPs, I refused to listen to Mum's version of temperature as it just sounded like she was telling me how to turn water into steam.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure its a medical fact that anything near 40degC means that the British body shuts down and must lie on a sun lounger near a pool...
Headline : Parents survive extreme Expedition The parents have now left their little girl all alone in the good ol' U S of A and returned home. Any followers reading this can rest assured we left her wrapped in cotton wool, with more "just in case medication" than Boots have on their shelves, a lifetime supply of healthy porridge .. mostly "borrowed" from the hotels mentioned in the blog .. to counteract the affect of the junk food and a big gun. (Ed: only 3 of these 4 statements are true!) And yes, Laura DID actually eat a Burger while we were there!
Our body clocks are all over the place and we are sleeping 12/14 hours now to recover from the MILES of trekking in 100 degree heat that Laura put us through (my theory was this was an attempt by her to get her inheritance early so she could stay in America as she loves it so much!-)
Have fun .. keep safe .. keep blogging!

Not my fault.....! I just can't help dribbling food and drink down my T-shirts ..... every time I think about the views across the Grand Canyon my mouth drops open again..... ;-)
Shame about the hiccup at the beginning but sounds like your having a great time already. Hope you're all managing to see all the gold medals that Team GB are still winning (I should think you are probably too busy to watch tv). Tell your parents the fish have been fed and Graham had a little chat with them. Keep well - enjoy your travels. xxx

Sympathy sympathy Hey darling
I was thinking of you as my umbrella broke mid torrential rain storm today! But really, have been concerned about you so glad you still have your sense of humour.Fully expected to see you in a llama hat but seriously please see if you can find one with a large brim ( ok thats enough Mummy nagging).
