I am a nature lover and I would, anyday, love to be in touch with the elements and sweat it out rather than to live comfortably inside a well furnished, air-conditioned house that offers all the modern-day man-made luxuries. I like to travel on the lesser-travelled roads and explore the unexplored places.
My dream adventure is to go on a trip to Leh-Ladakh in the near future...Meanwhile, I plan to continue exploring the south...Places like - Mangalore, Coorg, Munaar, Allepey, Mysore and the likes are on the cards. Wanna join me, eh ?!?
03 Feb 2007:
An update on my travel adventures: After the visit to Pondicherry, I visited a place called Shivsamundaram with a group of male friends. We drove down on 4 bikes and had an awesome time splashing around in the waters of the river Cauvery. Karnataka is a beautiful travel destination. More on that trip in my next blog entry.
Then I visited Kerala in the month of August with a group of 9 other friends. We explored the backwaters of Allepey, the Wild-Life Sanctury of Periyar and the Tea-Estates of Munnar. Kerala is truly - The GOD's own country...More on this later - Meanwhile do check out the pics from Kerala in my orkut Album - http://www.orkut.com/AlbumView.aspx?uid=14691182352711626996.
I also visited Chennai to meet friends. I had a ball of a time on the Marina and the Besant Nagar beaches.
I had plans to visit Jog Falls and go for a water-sports adventure camp - but due to poor health, the plans didn't materialize. Jog Falls is calling me again! I am sure I will explore that beautiful place sometime in the near future.
As on today, my geographical coordinates are 22.20N, 87.25E. I have moved eastwards back to my school and my mind is yet again teeming with a load of travel ideas. Before making a move from IIT, I plan to visit a few places like: Darjeeling, Gangtok, Bhutan, The Sunderbans, Shankarpur, Guwahati, Shillong and Puri. My first adventure would tentatively begin in the last week of Feb and my first desintaion would be Darjeeling.
I also plan to explore a few places on bike. If anybody is enthusiastic about driving on these lesser traveled roads with me and is inspired my 'Diarios de Motocicleta' - get in touch!
I plan to explore Leh in the first half of May 2007. Leh has always been on the top of my travel charts.
And yeah, not to forget - In an year or two - I wish to travel all the way to the enigmatic and spiritual haven - The Forbidden Land - Tibet.
Until Then,
Adios Amigos...

I guess I am getting addicted to travelling. Somebody save me, eh! Ofcourse I am kidding! When a place like Pondicherry is being talked about, who the hell wants to be saved! Pondicherry - also known as 'Puduchery' in the official Tamil language, is a Union Territory of India & an ertswhile colony of France. It consists of 4 small unconnected districts - Pondicherry, Karaikal & Yanam on the Bay of Bengal and Mahe on the Arabian Sea. The 'district' of Pondicherry is located on the east coast & is surrounded by the state of Tamil Nadu on all sides except towards the Bay. An Account of the Adventure:- Like always, it was Rochana who masterminded the plan. Her friend Ann, a professional photographer, apart from being an environmentalist & a keen traveller, wanted to visit ... read more
Well, what more can I ask for, eh! Given my lust for travel and exploration, if I get an opportunity to pen down my experiences and have enthusiastic travel freaks read about them - my spirits would surely be lifted! So, I would like to exploit this oppurtunity to the fullest and talk about my adventure in a place called Hogenakkal (also spelt as Hokenkal), which lies on the Karnataka - Tamil Nadu border. It is home to a number of magnificent waterfalls. Also, the song - 'Dil hai Chota sa' from the famous hindi movie 'Roja' was shot in it's serene and beautiful environments. A brief account of the adventure :- I was accompanied to Hogenakkal by three friends of mine - Taran, Rochana and Pallavi. The day before we left, I had made a ... read more
