knowing macaques knowing you ah aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah how do Ryan,
Another great blog entry, informative as ever and it's always good to have a large pictorial section to supplement the script.
it's a fact that macaques are the anti social tearaways of monkey society and best avoided wherever possible, I vaguely remember David Attenborough making a comment along those lines, (or he might have just said that they were nasty little buggers) same difference really i suppose.
Orangutans however are a totally different cup o tea, the old man of the forest! chilled out and laid back, a real gent of the animal kingdom, bit lazy mind but you cant have everything.
It's good to see that you are spending time travelling with other people, and that you are striving to promote pan European cooperation wherever possible, it seems that you are still really enjoying your travels, so keep the blog going so that we can keep up with whats going on.
In closing remember stay safe, keep well, and never forget to keep your feet on the ground! particularly when walking next to enormous chasm's at the side of bridges.
Look forward to the next instalment take care!!!!!!!!
Love Dad x
O lucky you Hiya sonny - well done on the brilliant blog once again. You are extremely lucky to be away from freeeezing cold Britain at the moment - we are really suffering here. Ive fallen at the end of Grosvenor way today - so undignified!! And I had to stand up all the way from Bolton to Leeds on friday when i went to see your sis. All due to the weather and trains being cancelled and the transport system unable to cope blah blah. Anyway what a fantastic time it looks like you are having - love the mountain scenery - so beautiful. You are getting a bit of a dab hand with the old camera are'nt you? keep it coming - more of yourself though please.
Take care and dont be offering yourself up for sacrifice if they run out of goats!! love Mum xx
Iron Ryan, mmmmmmmmmmm? How do son o mine,
Once again a cracking blog, informative and full of pictures just the way we like them, we don't have the majestic Himalayas here in Horwich of course but we do have the picturesque snow capped peaks of Rivington pike and winter hill on our doorstep and the freezing weather to go with them, mind you cant complain as the worst of the snow seems to have avoided us up to yet,Kayleigh has had it far worse in Leeds and there are other parts of the country at a virtual standstill due to the weather conditions.
Spotting wildlife and sitting outside drinking cold beers enjoying Nepalese sunsets sounds good to me although the festivities involving the mass execution or is it sacrifice? (same thing really, don't suppose the chickens, ducks, goats, etc would care to differentiate between the two given the choice) of domestic animals is a different thing altogether, still, each to their own as they say.
Sounds like the next blog entry is going to be a complete change, away from the snow of Nepal and into the sunshine of Malaysia, quite a contrast and a massive change in climate and scenery, looking forward as always to reading the next instalment and of course lots of piccies.
I will sign of for now, and remember as always keep well and stay safe love dadx
Peaking Brilliant! Well Ryan it sounds like you are still having a brilliant time! I love the fact that the travelling and amazing stories does not deter you away from literary excellence, maintaing such a vocabulary of words such as 'plethora' one would think it was written by a certain Mr Fry! 'Iron Man' McCue indeed! Have you suffered no altitude sickness at all? Thats pretty good going i would say! Looks amazing bro, it really does. Im very jealous as i always say! One day i shall venture myself! Good to hear you are still making lots of friends! Keep em coming! Your blogs brighten up my otherwise dreary life! You are missing the snow! Got about 6 inches of the white stuff in Leeds! School isnt closed though! So still at work where i am writing this comment to you instead of doing work! Better get back to it! Miss you and love you xxx
Dehli is poo hey Ryan! Glad your still functioning properly ;-) of everyone we met travelling through India, Dehli has been the most unpopular choice of visit, with most negative incidents being reported to have happened there. you're not alone! We hated it, but Daramasla more than made up for it- and I loved our fab times in Goa, our best memories so far! your pics look amazing, i think ur brave to do a huge trek like that, I'm too paranoid one of us will fall ill or something to do it! enjoy the rest of your travels, stay safe :-) xxxxx
Hi im Yasmin I work with you mum. You pictures are amazing, I visited India with my parents many many years ago wen I was 14, we lived in Agra very close to the Taj Mahal we stayed there for 6 months, and had a brilliant time, apart from the stomach upsets! Take care and enjoy the rest of your holiday.
clenched chebs in Delhi, face masks in Kathmandu Blimey,
Bit of a rough ride by the sounds of it, from Delhi to Kathmandu definitely no bed of roses as you so rightly said,(there's a song in there somewhere), glad to hear things got better when you got to Nepal and that you enjoyed your trekking experience,
I was a little bit surprised when I read your blog to read about the air pollution problem in Kathmandu, I always assumed the because you associate the city with the Himalayas that the air would be of a superior quality.
Good to hear that you used your powers of negotiation to avoid a potential international incident which could have occurred due to some ones selective hearing problem when it comes to currency matters.
Great to see pictures included in your blog once again by the way, hope your camera problems are all sorted now, looking forward to the second half of the Nepal blog and reading more about the Annapurna trek which must have been brilliant although physically hard.
Anyway I will sign off for now make myself a brew and relax for a while, That's English tea by the way not Tibetan which is Yuk or is it Yak?
So Keep well and stay safe, hope to hear from you soon.
Peace out! son o mine Love Dad x
Delhi Im sure Ryan that this is one of those experiences which is horrendous at the time but one that will stick in your mind most and will make you laugh the most when you look back.
Your blogs are brilliant to read and Im looking forward to your next one.
Sure you mum and dad will love the picture of you at edge of a mighty drop!!

Oh Dear Ryan!!!! Is it a little sinister of me that this has been my favourite blog to date! I have just been wetting mysefl reading it at work! Its good to hear that you can still have a good rant about things...i was getting worried with all the 'positive vibes man' thought you were turning into abit of a 'gap yah' student! haha! But seriously what a shame that dehli was a let down! The comment about you almost soiling yourself was a personel highlight and the fact that you incorporated chebs into a blog is just brilliant! As i said i have read this from ym desk at work...at 7.20 on a very cold, windy and dreary bonfire night. Im relying on a sparkler tonight to somehow improve my mood! I dare say the firework display of hyde park leeds will hardly be anything to compare to the sights you have seen but nevertheless i am heading there tonight...life is thrilling for mini mccue! Glad to hear you are ok and i hope your chronic diahorrea has settled. Also if you do excrement some faeces onto yourself i want all the details! Keep them coming bro! I miss you and love you lots. (hope thats not too gay to write on here) Much love xxxxxxxxxxxx
Good blogs! Hi 'R' ! hope your travels are going well, looks like your having a fab time! 'D' had her baby recently not sure if you know, check out FB when you get chance! we are all waiting for your new updates!
take care :)
Jealous Your blogs are making me really jealous Ryan but when I become the oldest backpacker in few years (need to save the dosh) hopefully you will have plenty of advice.
Keep the blogs coming they are fantastic to read especially when your sat in a very dull and wet Bolton town!!!
keep on trekking Hi Ryan - good as ever to read your blog. Facinated with all the stuff you are doing like visiting the temple and the Taj. You would have planned that before you set off I would imagine but stuff like visiting the little village at Pushkar was a spur of the moment thing right? I would have paid to see your face when they got their instruments out!! I hope you gave them a suitable round of applause at the end. Sorry to hear you were sick but it sounds as if it was just a 24 hour thing so good show. Hope you enjoy Nepal as much as you seemed to have enjoyed India - please try to get the photo thing sorted soon. Missing you - love Mum xxxx
Delhi Belly and frontier posturing. Hi Ryan,
well it was bound to happen, struck down by the infamous Delhi Belly, curse of many a traveller (even Micheal Palin fell foul of it on his travels through India) lets hope you don't get it again.
Kayleigh might feel a little less jealous at the moment knowing that she went to the Leeds festival whilst you only got to attend the Pushkar folk music festival although she would not have been given complimentary cups of tea whilst being entertained in the main tent area.
Really enjoyed reading about all the places you have visited and the sites you have seen since your last blog entry, hopefully you will soon be able to add the pictures of the Taj Mahal and the fort at Agra along with the golden temple which should make it even better.
I have witnessed the extravagant marching and posturing at the border courtesy of Mr Palins TV program,I can relate to what you wrote about it being compared to a passionate local derby football match, I imagine it really is something to see Live!
I will sign off for now and will close in my usual fashion by saying take care and stay safe,
PS. if you are on your way to the Himalayas put your thermals on.
Love dad.
Fantastic Hi Ryan
You don't know me but I used to work with your mum. Im very jealous of your globe trotting and wished it was something I did when I was younger. Reading your blogs it sounds amazing so in a few years who knows I maybe the oldest backpacker going. Look forward to your next blog, makes wet and windy britain seem even more......... wet and windy!!!!!!

cows camels and elephants oh my! Blimey son o mine you're turning into a real dab hand at wildlife photography, that combined with a much enhanced appreciation of architecture and all things painted in any shade of blue is showing a new side to your personality,
I hope it was Crown Paint they used (Looks suspiciously like one of our more subtle shades called making waves)
Anyway I digress, its good to see that you are enjoying your meanderings through India and that the locals appear to be going out of their way to make you feel less vertically challenged, very nice of them I thought bless em!,mind you it looks like you really have to be careful what you order off the drinks menu some really dodgy beverages on there if you ask me,and I'm not talking about the lemon oda.
Right I'll sign off for now, looking forward to your next instalment, by the way Man Utd won their first match against Newcastle Utd 3-0 take care and stay safe
Love Dad.
Desert rat!! Hi Ryan - fab to read the latest instalment of your blog - ive got everyone at work following too so i dont know if you will get any comments from them. Took it to show Nan yesterday and she was amazed - she told me what to type on her little comment - all her words. All is ok here - weather not been too bad this weekend but dont know how long that will last. Licorice is missing Purdey - I know they didnt always see eye to eye but she keeps looking for her - outside and in. It must be lonely for her cos they were always together werent they?
What amazing things you are doing and seeing arent you - keep on telling us about them cos we are loving it.
Take care - lots of love from Mum xx
So proud Hiya Ryan - Ive just been looking at all your news that you have sent your Mum and Dad.
I think its great. A great adventure for you. Just keep safe. I hope you are well
Love you from Nan xx
