| 1st October 2007 M & D | - From: In search of an orca Hi again, it certainly has been a fantastic trip. You've met up with some great people along the way, many of whom I'm sure you will meet up with again! Have also got some amazing photos for my album!! Don't know how you've managed to get back into work mode after all your adventures! We're all really looking forward to seeing you both this weekend on your first trip back home. Hope the journey isn't too bad, although compared with the bus trips from hell it probably won't be a problem! Take care and will see you Sunday. All our love M & D xxxxxxxxxx |
| 19th August 2007 M & D | - From: Doing the "W" Feel absolutely exhausted after reading this. Wouldn't have made it past day 1! Thank god for the chocolate pudding and treacle pudding at the end of day 6!! Glad the sun shone for you at the end. I bet a cold beer had never tasted so good!! You must be getting thinner by the day after all this trekking!! Take care both of you. All our love M & D xxxxxxxx |
| 19th August 2007 M & D | - From: Hanging on a rope Glad you recovered all the lost blogs. This is definitely more challenging than the climbing wall!! Fantastic scenery again. Am impressed with your zipping across the glacier river Kevin. Looks very professional! Lots of love as always M & D xxxxxxxx |
| 30th July 2007 Igor | - From: Doing the "W" so jealous of you guys doing all that climbing, the only climbing we do in mitcham is up and down the stairs to our office... |
| 25th June 2007 paul | hey - From: Glacier Watching hi guys, just been catching up on your blogs...you dont stop much do you! im at my new job at claridges hotel now, and get holiday pay finally, and because of you guys making jealous with all of yopur exploits, im off to oz for 3 weeks in september, not that adventurous i know, but a good place to start. Then next year i'll be taking a few shorter trips so will have to try to hook up somewhere for a bevvy! Other than that, nothings new here, im thinking about re-trading as a plumber soon, but am gonna find out what are the best trades to go for in oz, as im seriously considering moving out there, (i hate to say i t, but this country is going downhill, with no vision of getting any better), so im gonna cut my loss's and jump ship me thinks! anyway, keep up the good work, and will catch up soon! paul.x (for tash)! |
| 18th June 2007 Nat Barry | Climbing - From: Hanging on a rope Sounds a lot more interesting climbing out there than Calshot climbing wall!!! Great views and a lot more challenging |
| 25th May 2007 M & D | - From: How to cross South America if you're afraid of flying! Thats certainly the journey from hell - I would definitely have opted for the flight for $500!! (Would gladly have given all the sand a miss!) Your trip home in October will seem quite painless in comparison! Having a shower during your brief stop over must have been an absolute luxury, dread to think what the bus must have smelt like!!! Will look forward to another update soon, hopefully with no more dreadful bus journeys to report! Take care, much love M & D xxxxxxxxxx |
| 23rd May 2007 jonmatte | Chilean buses... - From: How to cross South America if you're afraid of flying! You're right. The buses in Chile suck so bad! It's strange since it's the wealthiest country. Anyway, I tough my 48 hours bus ride from Ushuaia to BA was a killer, but you beat me for sure! Have fun in El Chalten, it's a great place. |
| 23rd May 2007 Mark | Friggin Hell - From: How to cross South America if you're afraid of flying! That sounds like a journey and a half! I think I would have been very tempted by the flight for $500! |
| 7th May 2007 M & D | - From: Relaxing in Vilcabamba Hi there, sounds as if you had a nice birthday Tash, the hotel sounds lovely, glad you treated yourselves to some extra tlc as a birthday treat! The trails on the hike certainly look a bit precarious in places, but am sure the views more than made up for the balancing act! So sorry about Kevin's camera, etc. Its such a shame about the photos and journal as they're things you can't replace, but as long as you two are both ok thats the main thing. Yes, the blogs will have to be read in more detail now! Look forward to another update soon, all our love, take care M & D xxxxxxxxxxxx |
| 3rd May 2007 Kev and Tash | RE: Hola! - From: Relaxing in Vilcabamba Hi Martin, good to hear from you, glad you enjoyed the rest of your trip. We`ve heard nothing but good things from everyone who`s been to Columbia, wish we could have fitted it in! Hopefully at some point we might actually catch up with our blog to the point where its up to date! Cheers Kev and tash xx |
| 2nd May 2007 Martin | Hola! - From: Relaxing in Vilcabamba Hi Kev and Tash, it's Martin here from San Pedro, Guatemala...a long, long time ago now I know but it's great to see you're both plodding on and having a cracker. I finished my trip by spending 2 1/2 months in Colombia..the best country I went to, great fun and lots to see. Well I hope you both continue to have the crack and look forward to you're next entry. Martin :) |
| 22nd April 2007 M & D | - From: Water Antics Hi again, their carnival celebrations certainly sound dangerous! So sorry about your eye Tash, hope its ok now. The white water rafting also sounds hazardous, to say the least! You must have been ready for your ice cold beer at the end of the day! Its a good job you had your mexican feast to keep you going! Take care both of you, will look forward to another update soon, (don't make it too dangerous!) all our love M & D xxxxxxxxxxx |
| 22nd April 2007 M & D | - From: Things to do in the north! Another great blog update, all I can say is I'm glad you pampered yourselves in the hot springs before climbing the Volcano! The photos are amazing, can't imagine how cold you must have been, bet the 3 hours it took you to get back down seemed endless! You certainly packed a lot in during your week off. Loads of love M & D xxxxxxx (PS - the scarf is great - recognised them in the photo!) |
| 22nd April 2007 M & D | - From: How to be a Black Sheep Hi, certainly sounds like a fantastic place to work and what spectacular scenery, expect you really miss them all, perhaps you might be able to go back again one day. Hope they were impressed with you cooking skills, Kevin. Much love, as always M & D xxxx |

| 1st April 2007 M & D | - From: Transvestite prostitutes and the worlds most unorganised crime! Hi again, sounds like quite an interesting visit to San Jose! (to put in mildly). Hope your next stop is less eventful and you don't come up against anymore undercover cops or fake drug busts - maybe just stick to the culture in future!!! All's well here, very boring compared with your adventures! Everyone sends their love, take care both of you and stay away from those criminal wannabes!! Much love, as always M & D xxxxxxxxxxx |

| 10th March 2007 M & D | - From: A Mini Amazon Hi again, sounds like another eventful journey into the jungle, thank goodness you didn't encounter any muggers on route (wish you hadn't told me about that bit!!!). The boat trip back to the city sounds more tranquil, another good photo shoot no doubt. My album is coming on nicely so keep up the good work! Loads of love once again M & D xxxxxxx |
| 10th March 2007 M & D | - From: Santa Elena and Monteverde Hi there, some great photos once again, a few more to add to my collection!! Loved the shot of the two butterflies, but think it possibly took more than one attempt to get this one!! Don't think I could have coped with the huge cockroaches, etc at the insect museum! Glad you got to see the band in the end though, were they as good as nminus10, Kevin! Take care, hope to speak again soon, all our love M & D xxxxxxxxxx |

He seems just as demanding whilst thinking he's also human!! (Apart from a lot stinkier!). That Scorpio is terrifying!!! Never knew they carry their babies on their back... pretty cool though. It's definately gonna be a shock to the system for you both when u get back to England for your flying visit! Looks like ur building up ur toned six-pack there Kev!!! |

My mum´s friend´s daughter came to the project to volunteer about a month or so ago - can´t remember her name at the moment but she came through a gap year type company I think. Life is cool. Have just finished a 3 month stint volunteering at Ecolodge in Andes of Ecuador and are now heading south to Peru. Take care and send our love to the turtles when you go back next!! |

Simon must have been relieved when you arrived to help with the landscaping!! What a selection of wildlife, it must be amazing to see so close. We are WWOOFing at another place in Costa Rica at the moment. We have been recommending MMRF to everyone, so may have some more volunteers coming your way! Falling in a lake was scary but less scary than the prospect of having to spend a few nights in Guatemala city trying to get new passports! |
| 11th November 2006 dawn | - From: More Spanish...... and an unexpected swim in the lake! geez louise guys, the whole sinking in the lake thing, you take it a lot more cas' than I would of, I would have been convinced I was about to die, you make it sound like, ahh, so the paddles aren't floating, but hey! our passports are dry, so we're all sorted... |

| 30th October 2006 M & D | - From: Rum and Ruins Hi again, you're both certainly getting very adept at working out the best routes to take to your next destination. It makes our permanent traffic jams here, roadworks, bollards, diversions, temporary traffic lights etc sound like childs play!! Hope you have some good news from your Ecolodge application, no doubt the rum helped the answers to flow more fully! Yes, recognised the Rain God, we haven't needed him here recently although it's still really mild weather and the plants don't know what season they're in now! Take care and, as always, will look forward to the next update. Much love M & D xxxxxxxxxx |

Shame about the old story staircase, could've been a great old bedtime story for the future kids hey?!! Good news about the Ecolodge in Ecuador... are u still planning to be there over new year?? Can't believe there were no kebabs up for grabs in a small random mountain village at midnight...how rude of them not to provide such a great english cuisine!?!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

| 18th October 2006 M & D | What a nightmare! - From: More Spanish...... and an unexpected swim in the lake! Hi again, another all action blog!! The lake episode sounds very scarey, thank goodness for the ferry boat and also a big thankyou to Paul from us for buying you the dry bag!! Your Spanish seems to be going well, the location of the classrooms seems a great learning environment, certainly better than the pub where you used to catch up on your homework Kevin!!! Loads of love and will be in touch soon (hopefully on our new skype set up!) take care M & D xxxxxxxxxx |
| 16th October 2006 Kev and Tash | RE: my jaw is unable to meet itself again - From: Parlamero. . . . thats an interesting one for the CV!! Hi guys, that cute dog is called´ashtray`(in spanish) - poor dog! Glad we are educating you, will try to keep up the ´intellectual` standard of our blogs!!! Buena Vista Social Club were cool, not sure how many of the band were from the original band line up, but at least one was we believe? They were all getting on a bit though but could still get everyone up dancing! Saw another nicaraguan band in Leon, not sure if they are famous, but they were pretty cool and sold their music genre as national, revolutionary and traditional! Maybe seems a bizarre mix but it was good.... sorry can´t remember their name though! |
| 10th October 2006 marie | my jaw is unable to meet itself again - From: Parlamero. . . . thats an interesting one for the CV!! WOW (said really loud and lancastrian-ly), i've learnt loads off this blog.. i am also slightly amazed that in such a natural environment you managed to plug in and send a blog! I love the pics - you have a cute one of a smily dog - soz - i should make more of a fuss about the sunsets etc!! Karl is jealous you saw buena vista social club - we told loads of people!! Take care, lots of love Marie x |

I hear Karita and Dave have got jobs and settled down well in Oz which is good, must email them soon! The photos have been taken on standard digital camreas, Kev's is better as it is newer than mine. His is a Cannon A700 and mine is a Nikon. We are still experimneting with all the settings and manual functions on Kev's but it seems to be going well. We will be putting on a blog about our diving experiences soon which should have some good photos as we hired an underwater camera!!! Travelling on a shoestring is definitely recommended for weight loss, as is volunteer work! Take care love tash and kev |

Job is going well, am getting to know cobham oxshott + claygate as have patients all over- most of them huge posh houses with swimming pools or out in the sticks in an old farm house- is quite interesting! We've now ordered some skype thingys so should be all set up with that by next week! Talk to you soon, take care, love lots xxxxxxx |
| 4th October 2006 Bel | Fab photos - From: Back to School........ Hi Tash & Kev. Lovely to be able to read about your adventures. It seems as though you're both having a great time. What an experience being able to share your time with other folk. Really quite envious - looks more fun than going to Bognor!!!! Your photos are fantastic too- Ian wants to know what camera you're using? My word, it looks as though you've both lost weight! Must try it myself one day - Weight Watchers never seemed to work for me!!! You both look really well though. Take care and enjoy every moment. Be in touch again soon. Love Bel xxxx |
| 1st October 2006 M & D | - From: Back to School........ Another great blog update, its such a great way to keep up with all your news! Your Guatemalan family sound good fun, especially Pupi! Pleased to hear you're keeping up with your cooking skills, although don't think you would win the Masterchef award with your tortillas! Your phone calls through the Skype system are cool! Its great to be able to speak to you 'live'!!. We should hopefully soon have our own Skype system set up, will keep you updated! Glad to hear the sewing kit came in handy Tash, if the hammock bag is as good as Kevin's shaving bag you made him, it will be very impressive!! Will look forward to news of your turtle project next, as always look after yourselves and keep us updated on the salsa!! Much love M & D xxxx |
| 1st October 2006 M & D | - From: The road to Antigua & Volcan Pacaya Hi there again, your travelling adventures certainly make very entertaining reading and are definitely more social occasions than the bus journeys here! Grandad was very impressed with the colourful bus, Kevin & thought the antics of the conductor highly amusing! Your visit to the Volcano looks amazing, you must both be very fit now after all this walking and climbing you're doing (have noted you're still losing weight!), make sure you keep up the calories with those tasty tortillas! Take care of yourselves, much love M & D xxxx |

| 18th September 2006 Sophie/ half of Dutch couple | it was freezing indeed - From: Banana Magic in Wah-Ha-Kah!! Hi Kevin and Natasha, Nice to read your stories! Lovely pics too. It seems, no it IS ages ago, the cycling in Oaxaca, but back home behind my computer i can feel my muscles again. You definitely were the swimming champions! Perhabs Natasha's semi-cremation in Teotihuacan supported the love for cold? Meanwhile we cloggies claim the cycling victory ;-) Hope you're still having a great time. Keep on writing, hug Sophie Stroeken & Arjan Wierda |

We were singing your praises again the other day - after we took an unexpected swim in a massive lake: fortunately we had all our valuables in your dry bag, so we owe you one for saving all our cameras, money, passports etc!! good luck with the jobs, if you get the fashion show security one you better take a good camera with you!! |
