Ok first entry, here it goes. We left Auckland city in the afternoon only having a rough idea of what we wanted to do and see in our few days off of work in Auckland. On the motorway heading south east we were slowed down almost to a hault by rain that looked like it belonged in a disaster film. Even with the windscreen wipers on full and lights on it was still hard to make out the car infront. After passing through Hamilton without stopping we left our route on highway1 and took a left to Matamata. Getting into Matamata its clear that there is only 1 reason to visit the town and that is if you know anything about the lord of the rings films.
