All in all, the river and the whole Kwai experience was pretty moving and we actually learned a lot about the horrors that occoured only a couple of decades ago. Kanchanaburi was a nice chilled out place- the first spot off the beaten track (well kind of) that we really enjoyed. First of many that is! | 13th April 2008 dennis white | river kwai - From: WARter!!! you wll love river kwai if you ignore its sad history. you must visit museum & graveyard to understand it all, walk across bridge and feel the vibes of history and all those lives lost building the railway.They have a great floating restaurant its pretty cheap so it will suit you. it is towed by a long tailed boat so it's nice and gentle. all for now keep in touch it's great reading about your adwenture (thats thai) love dad & jane |
