Stunning Sunsets!
Did you get to see a whale?
From Blog: Puerto Lopez

That was some 'tail'
OK so I am officially jealous. Who froze in Iceland and was very sick just to see those minky whales jump. At least there's hope for civilised whale watching out there.

Turkey...
I suppose 'Royal Turkeys' is quite apt, as they have similar tail plummage shapes and they did eat peacock too... Personally, I find most poultry quite disappointing (sausages!); have you dined on any more guinea pig? Food on summer job is mostly potatoes - one evening we had hotpot with sliced potatoes on the top, potatoes in the hotpot mixture underneath served with mashed potatoes on the side. I feel like... a potato, actually! And not a South American beach toasted one, either :-( Other ideas: you should get a stone version of the monkey carved and put it on your [eventual] mansion's gatepost to scare off unwanted visitors! It looks scary! Take care, amiga! xxx

That orange bird is the weirdest bird I've ever seen! He looks like he has an eye in his neck and his head is just missing! Love the 'Magpie'! I think you should have enlightened them though, you could always email them a photo from home!
26th July 2009

Of course they were magpies
Well glad to hear the weather cheered up. Photos as good as usual. I love to see a photo of this magpie!

Sorry Stephen! Though I´m sure you´ll have many amazing Ecuador blogs on the top spot soon! I still have a few more days here - you´ll be glad to know the weather is incredible at the moment!

How dare you push me out of the top spot! haha. Great blog and nice pictures. I can't wait to see Ecuador! One more month.. Are you back yet!??
23rd July 2009

Nice to see the update! Looks like you had an amazing time in the jungle ...and saw far too many creepy crawlies for comfort! Love the Tarzan swing, although quite relieved to find it wasn't you in the video!
23rd July 2009

Are you sure it was raining?
How do you do it ? Brilliant photos in the rain! I've been looking forward to this blog. Are you cooking fish when you come home?

I promise that the culture comment was merely coming from an impoverished student point of view and not implying that I don´t appreciate culture - I think we went to enough museums in Vienna to prove that!
18th July 2009

Guess what! I've finally worked out how to use Google Reader!
Hola! *Love* the shrine photo - are you using the same camera you took to Vienna, or is this a new one? I do wonder, however, what an asthmatic ant sounds like to the human ear... ;-) Apologies for the long silence - temporary summer job has been *disgustingly* demanding and have only just had time to set myself up with Google Reader. As my many RSS feeds now take up so much screen space that half of them get forced out of sight, this resulted in only half of the pages being noted whenever I log on for work and then even fewer being hastily skimmed. However, I will be a most attentive reader from now on as it will ALL pop up on my Reader homepage automotically! :-D One final question before my students (all over 18, thank God!) are let out of their lecture and descend upon me like frenzied piranahs with their millions of questions/problems/etc. "Really love that the majority of museums here are free - makes culture so much more palatable!" - who are you and what have you done with Katem?! ;-) Don't leave that camera behind when you go out - some of us have to rely on your photos! Glad you haven't lost the shopping bug.
Well glad you got things in proportion: shopping, food, museums and hummingbirds. No iguanas? Glad you saw your babies! All those maternal feelings just flood back or not!! HAve a great continuing journey. Love us at home

I love how many photos you have of that cathedral. Do you take one every time just to show how much the tree in front is growing? Absolutely stunning photo of the shrine. Is it for anything in particular?
7th June 2009

Hi, love your '...going...' photo, that weird moment between water doing nothing and water shooting all over the place! Think I've been to the very same place, though it was rainy the entire time I was there... hmmph
30th January 2009

love your boobies!
From Blog: Galapagos!!!!!
13th January 2009

I'm glad to hear that the natural history museum was as amazing as last time. It must be one of those special places by how long you spend inside. Was the dinosaur leg still there?
13th January 2009

Where did the pink palace go?
OK. So where did this amazing pink palace go? You must the the only person who can convince me that the palace had been painted pink to raise money for charity by showing me the photo (altered)on your camera.... and I believed you!
20th December 2008

It was worth it .Really?
Ecuador in a bikini sounds much better but we stuck it out and those whales could certainly jump!!
20th December 2008

Beautiful photos
Yes I agree that there are fairies and that was the most scenic toilet in the world!!
20th December 2008

Well of course your mother's still got it!
Luckily you didn't see or hear the state of your mother when she did get to the top! Was it worth it? Of course not but I didn't admit it. It was just a slightly larger version of 'High Force' waterfall in County Durham.
17th December 2008

makes me want to revisit vienna!
hey, I enjoyed reading this blog. and you take very good photos as well! keep writing!!!!
23rd November 2008

Maybe
I still think you need a little variety in between!

After lots of Research....
I have determined the number of waterfalls you have to see before you get bored is 29,359. I arrived at this number by considering you can see one waterfall everyday for 80 years and not get bored- because waterfalls are never boring no matter how many you see!
