Brilliant! What a wise way to re-enter your new life and leave the stresses of your former ones, plus how lovely to do it with your mother! Since it was a challenging detox, how healing that you had access to the beautiful park, sauna and the pool, not to mention exquisite daily massages. Best wishes in your healthier life back in Germany!
wonderful holiday Very good an experience, I have been to Singapore, I like the country, road is very clean, the food is delicious, above the sands with swimming pool is very exciting, I prefer the universal studios amusement facilities, see you reminds me of my report, I have to go to Singapore's experience, good like it, hope to have the opportunity to will go to again
Re: wonderful holiday I agree. Singapore is a great place to live and work and also for a holiday. I will be back for a few days in July and look forward to it! I hope you will get the opportunity to visit again :-)
Re: Malaysia It was fantastic. I read quite a few websites and blogs before deciding which of the islands to pick. Pulau Rawa seems to be known for its beautiful white beaches and is maybe not as busy as Pulau Tioman. I heard that Pulau Sibu was rather nice as well. I found this website here pretty helpful: http://www.malaysiasite.nl/
Re: Yes, I posted my time in the Cameron Highlands... Thank you! Guess I will have to read it all from the beginning, just started with how your parents met and was - once more - totally amazed by all the places you have lived in and seen. So many experiences!
Re: Cruising Thanks! I really enjoyed Melaka. Nice atmosphere in the city. I recall meeting women travellers in Cambodia a few years ago who had been to Malaysia before coming to Cambodia and they had found the people in Malaysia horrible. I absolutely do not share this view. Really found the people there lovely every time I was there.
Thanks for the memories... I went to high school in Tanah Rata from 1966 to 1968. It's nice to see that the Smokehouse is still there. I'm not sure whether the Indian restaurant you went to is the one I went to every day after school for chapattis and chicken curry...now that's a memory!
Re: Thanks for the memories... Oh it's such a small world. Do you have a post on your time in Tanah Rata on your blog? Would love to read it. I'm sure a lot has changed since then. The Indian restaurant we went to is called "Singh Chapati" and is not far from the Bird's Nest hotel.
Congratulations! Your story of finally getting into the park was pretty amazing; how great that your persistence paid off. I think I would have given up after turning around and around so many times. Love that jungle path!
Re: Congratulations! Thanks! In fact I would have given up at the point when we were at the jetty and there was nobody there. I would just have sat down there for a while and enjoyed the jungle atmosphere. It was my friend Christiane who called the resort and asked for an arrangement and who was being really persistent. So I definitely need to thank her!
I started this blog in late 2007, before heading off to Australia for a hang gliding adventure. After my first solo flight in a hang glider all I wanted to do was fly as much as possible. I gave up my job as a human resources consultant and headed to Australia to live my dream of hang gliding. When I returned after four months, I wanted to build my life around the sport I loved so much, and I did. I was also determined to make it into the national hang gliding team and started flying competitions with only one year of flying experience.
