01/24- Mon. This day takes me back to memories of the high and lows of camping away from the amenities that we grow so accustomed to in our homes. Do ever recall being away from home and becoming very ill without the comforts of familiar medicines? Today I was reminded of one time in particular. As a kid my family was camping and waterskiing at Crawford Lake. I became extremely ill and soon an outhouse became my closest friend. At the time I just wanted to die. A memory that lies quietly until times like today. My day was planned to have lunch with a new acquaintance. This was to be a great opportunity to get to know one another better. My body, however, decided a completely unexpected agenda. Yes, I became very ill. My day ... read more

The journal will entail an overview of my weeks journey here in Seoul. Each week I continue to encounter many new adventures. I feel as though I am a rose that is slowing opening as I am surrounded by loving people with a great sense of adventure & humor. 01/17-Mon. Now was the test of trust for a new hairdresser. I had a referral from Monique who is blonde and has experience here in Seoul with various hairdressers. My appt. was at the the Sophia Beauty Shop in Itaewon. Brian did a fantastic job with the coloring and cut. If you plan to go this shop just note it's all about the hairand talent, not the cleanliness nor the modern accessories in this shop. 01/18-Tues. Great lunch with Ms. Bae and Ms. Yoo. They are both ... read more

APARTMENT SEARCH-This week has invited itself to outcomes that taught me patience, trust in God and self-control. We have found an apartment that we really liked last week. The landlord of the apartment on two occasions within two weeks time accepted the contract only to back out signing the final contract. I am reminded of those times in our lives when we become fearful of making a fiinal commitment. Is this out of intrinsic ego, lack of accountability or related to the fear of making the wrong choice? The saying, 'Run Forest Run', comes to mind. It is during these times my true colors become vivid. At first I felt a little down, then the more I thought about it the peaceful the situation became. God has a much bigger plan. BIRTHDAY, Jan 10th-Our son Jeff ... read more

INSA-DONG ICE CREAM & WAFFLES TREAT- My husband and I found this fantastic place to have coffee, herbal tea and this delicious dessert. Just close your eyes and imagine a huge waffle with blackberry ice-cream, whipped cream, bananas and chocolate syrup on top. My hubby had coffee and I enjoyed hot herbal tea as a tasty drink to add to our dessert. Video attached, so be prepared for your mouth to water as you take the journey of deliciousness with us. NORYANGJIN FISH MARKET-On Sunday we decided to go visit the Noryangjin Fresh Fish Market. This is one of the most famous fish markets in the world. We dedicate this journey to Charlie and Pam. My husband and I embraced the bitter cold to seek the substation that would lead us to our intended destination. I ... read more

To my dearest fans, hard to believe we are now entering 2011. Time continues to keep us all moving forward. Some more quickly than others. I am thinking that many who read this are mentally preparing if not verbally sharing some type of New Years resolution. Hmmm...not sure what mine might be as I have so many great opportunities ahead. Ever wonder why we feel the need to presure ourselves to meet a specific resolution anyway? Now moving on to the fun travels and events experiences. New Years Eve we had a fabulous time eating dinner at the top of Jongno 33 stories above the city of Seoul. The view was outstanding. I was honored to take my first road trip with my hubby New Years day. I must say he did a fantastic job at ... read more

I am curious as to what might intrigue the interest of my journal readers most. Will it be my internal growth and development as an individual along the way or will it be my bloopers and blunders as I as an American foreigner forge my way in this unfamiliar territory?? Yes I am definitely the foreigner here in this beautiful country. As many have already seen on my FB postings my journey has been both challenging and funny all at the same time. My stories to be told may bring tears of joy to some and tears of sadness to others. The hopes are that you will grow with me along the way. I believe that God takes each of us on a variety of adventures so that we may expand beyond our capacity of understanding. ... read more
