Dear Keith We are sorry about your dad. God bless him. We know its hard for you and your family while your away, but sometimes there is nothing one can do. Hope God give you patience and the power to foregt the sorrows. we also wish you enjoy your trip.
Keith, so saddened and sorry to hear about your father. That must have been one of the toughest emails to receive. My heart goes out to you. I hope your sabatical is going well. Much love to you, Jo and the kids. We are enjoying your fabulous adventures from afar. Lisa (and Dave, Sarah and Ian)
Hi Colleen
Thanks for the kind words. I really miss you. I've been easing back into running, but hope to be back to normal by the time I return. If your leg allows, I hope we can continue to run together. How's the new house working for you? Is it any easier to get the kids to school being so close? Are you enjoying your freedon from the PTA?!!
Drop us a line. Viv is thrilled to hear about the classroom. Hi to Leo and the kids.
Keith (and Jo)
Enjoying the empty office? Hi Jeremy,
Good to hear from you. I hope that you're enjoying the having whole office to yourself, heheh. How's the semester starting off? My students here (all faculty and staff) are great, a bit hesitant at first but they warm up quickly. I teach next a giant bust of Ho Chi Minh in my classroom. Do you want one?!
Hello Office Mate! Hey Keith and family,
Just wanted to drop you a line to tell you that I am enjoying you travel commentary. I know you are probably wondering what took me so long to send a message...but I have finally gotten some balance after the start of the new semester. LOL.
Be well
I was so sorry to hear about your dad. It is always harder than we think it is going to be. You can honor someone from afar as well as at the funeral. You can be heard from either place. Take care of yourself and I hope you remember all the fond memories you had- he would like that.
Hi to Jo and the children. Please tell Vivian we are sorry that Claire has not written back. She is thought about at school and she will be in heaven when she meets the new teacher! They have a loveseat, two chairs, two lamps, rug, quilt, and candles in the classroom! I have never seen such a cozy place! The teacher makes learning enjoyable- she will be thrilled with her.
take care of yourselves, I just love reading the blogs and the photos are wonderful. I looked up that prison online- so powerful - it is hard to believe such atrocities take place.
looking forward to the next blog!
Colleen
HI Keith, we are so sorry about your Dad. We realy enjoyed his company both when we visited and also when he came to NZ. I believe you did the right thing as your Dad would have wanted.
I have finally caught up on all your blog messages, it has taken me about an hour of reading. I must make a point of reading them when they arrive. Please give our love to Jo and the kids. Gee they are growing up. When do you return to the Sates? Hamish and his partner Anna are planning a trip to Vietnam sometime early next year.
Thinking of you Keith and family - We are enjoying your travels from afar. I am so sorry to hear about your father; I am sure that this has made the trip bittersweet.
Lots of us are sending you kind thoughts - Christy
Not fair!! Not fair that Viv and Will got to ride an elephant... I want to tooo...
Looks like fun.. I bet the temples get a little creepy late in the day with all the shadows..
Busy, Busy Wow! You all have done a lot since the last time you put up a blog. Too bad that I could not come over and visit... would be lots of fun and I would learn a lot, I bet. Anyway... hope you all are having a great time.
Hello from NZ Hi Keith, Jo and family.
It was great to talk to you today Keith and I promise to keep up with all your future blogs. They are really interesting and informative. I have now caught up!
The photo came through just great immediately we hung up. Keep on Skyping when you can. Enjoy the coming days in Cambodia.
Love Mum, NZ
Amusement park fun You are getting old. Ted took the girls to six flags and Rachel had to ride everything, and Ted had to force himself to go on half the rides. I used Lilly as an excuse not to go at all. When did we become our parents?
Hope you guys are having a blast, it sure sounds like it. Give everyone a big kiss from us.

Muslims in Malaysia... Hi Ron, To answer your question...yes. Islam is the official/state religion. There are three main ethnic groups here in the country: the Malays 50% of the population (all of whom are automatically Muslim from birth) , the Chinese roughly 25%(who follow Buddhism and Christianity, but they can also be Hindu or Muslim), and the Indians about 10%(who also follow any of the four, though they mainly Hindu, Sikh, but also Christian, Muslim). There are also other indiginous peoples that make up the rest of the pop; they are counted as Muslim generally, but can be other including animistic....So, in short...a few key ethnic groups, but lots of religions...Islam being the official one.
Cheers..KH
Enjoying the travelblog Nice work! I hope all goes well and that you keep posting. I hope to show my kids these blogs. I don't know if you can respond to questions here, but I was wondering if Islam is the majority religion in the area or just one of a number? That mosque appeared to be fantastic! I'll be anxiously awaiting your next communication. Happy travels!
Intriguing Blog! And I thank my friend Joyce for sending me the URL. This is armchair traveling at its best and only hope you'll be there for a long time to come!
I have the shortcut to your site on my desktop so I can quickly tune in to new posts.
Wishing you all good things!

Cosmopolitan Cuisine Wow, Keith, what exotic foods you are finding! It's neat to read about all your adventures. Bob and I both drink "kopi ping" every day. And don't worry if you don't like everything. You're doing great considering as a child you only ate boloney and hot dogs. Keep having fun and hi to all the family.
Motoring in Malaysia Hey everyone; Keith, whats with declining the opportunity to drive a "classic" mini. I can attest to the fact that one can fit five people in it, from my experience as a kid with our 1962 mini. They really are like a go cart to drive. I see that Will has his SCOSAG art camp shirt on in the photo at the grandparents. Our kids are looking forward to this year's camp. Sorry you can't make it. Its almost time for the "do or die" world cup match between the US and Italy. Enjoy your viewing there.
I'll e-mail soon.
so cool hi guys, deshea e-mailed me your bolg address. i have been able to keep up with your adventures over in that part of the world. really great to see all of the pictures and commentaries. hope to see you when you guys get back-when????????? love, dawn
Howdy from Arkansas! Hi Keith, our family enjoys your posts so much! What a wonderful experience you are having. Jo's jungle plant would look great in our front yard. The beaches are beautiful, what fun to explore there! Ask Vi if she likes it better than Arkansas? Okay, now, have to go get my Atlas to find out where in the world you are...keep having fun!
enjoying your blog Keith, add JFHOUSER@sbcglobal.net to your list. I'm really enjoying the blog and get bummed when you go a few days without-aka 10 days ago. I was happy to get 5 blogs in 1 day. Say high to everyone and enjoy.
HI Keith you rblog pages are most interesting adn I am enjoying reading them. Only have to get ALan to have enough time to catch up.
Please give my regards to Jo and the children. Love from your NZ Mum
I love reading these blogs, Keith. I do think you should learn the martial arts and have Kathy do them after your runs together when you get back. Hello to Jo and the kids.
What a taxi! It is like being in a big stroller! I think I would enjoy that! All they need is a soft pillow behind their heads. Looks like a fantastic start to a seven month adventure. Really enjoying the journals.
How neat I would like to ride in one of the cyclos... looks like fun. Hope everyone has started to adjust to things. Is everyone surviving on the food over there.. sick of rice yet????lol I hope it is ok that i print these out for dad to read. He enjoys them I believe... keep them coming..
