Hello Hi Pete and Jude. Love your blogs. Sounds like you are having the time of your lives.
Look forward to seeing all the pics when you get back. I have already booked the week off work.LOL

Great!!! Love the picture. This is my type of tour. No scanky and dusty old buildings just good wine. Reminds me a bit of our wine tour in Aus.
Hope you are well.
Chris

The Sun has got his hat on! Hiya Cobbers! You really seem to be enjoying yourselves and obviously have the weather too apart from hail stones! Not to be out done we have the sun out here but not that warm. Hope you have avoided the rugby - not too brilliant and must be to the amusement of your hosts down under. Talking of which, another little antipodean joke I came across:
An Aussie truckie walks into an outback cafe' with a full-grown Emu behind him. The waitress asks them for their orders. The truckie says, 'A hamburger, chips and a coke,' and turns to the emu, 'What's yours?' 'I'll have the same,' says the emu. A short time later the waitress returns with the order 'That will be $9.40 please,' and he reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment..
The next day, the man and the emu come again and he says, 'A hamburger, chips and a coke.' The emu says, 'I'll have the same.' Again the truckie reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.
This becomes routine until the two enter again. 'The usual?' asks the waitress. 'No, it's Friday night, so I'll have a steak, baked potato and a salad,' says the man. 'Same,' says the emu. Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, 'That will be $32.62.' Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table.
The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. 'Excuse me, mate, how do you manage to always come up with the exact change in your pocket every time?' 'Well, love' says the truckie, 'a few years ago, I was cleaning out the back shed, and found an old lamp. When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.'
'That's brilliant!' says the waitress. 'Most people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!' 'That's right. Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there,' says the man.
The waitress asks, 'What's with the bloody emu?' The truckie sighs, pauses, and answers, 'My second wish was for a tall bird with a big arse and long legs, who agrees with everything I say.'
Blimey You just wouldnt think that there wwould be rain in Aus in the summer. Especially huge hailstones the size of lemons. Mind you very handy if you are stood outside with a glass of gin and tonic. Just hold out the glass and bingo. Great to hear from you. It seemed ages since we heard anything and I was beginning to worry that Pete had been left in one of those vineyards you had visited, never to be seen again. Have a great trip on the camper van. Looking forward to hearing all about it.
Show us your lemons! Boys want a photo of the lemon sized hailstones, and James wants to know if they tasted lemony too!! We all remember St Kilda and Manly beach - which Richard says is the best beach he has been to. Mind you he's only been to Clevedon and Weston!! Happy Mothers day Jude! Enjoy the camper van trip. xx
Remember the roof Glad you are having such a good time. Have copied blog for mum. She should know how to find your messages on her phone now. Enjoy the campervan and watch out for low bridges. Lots of love Rosie
Hi possums Great blog. We are really enjoying reading about your adventures. It makes our forthcoming holiday in Lanzarote seem a little dull.
The old girl ( Sue) says thanks for the Birthday card. She had an enjoyable day spending most of it with Anna and Louis.
Hope your bowels are getting back to normal.
xx
Wonderful Well what can I say but "absolutely wonderful".
Great blog Pete. Dave will be proud. It sounds idyllic and I am very envious, as I scrape the frost off the car windscreen. Bet you havent had to do that since you have been away. I love the wine tasting bit. It reminds me of the time that we went with Sara's mum and dad. I can picture you there sipping the wine and then spitting it out into that large bucket. Well maybe not!!
Have a great week in Melbourne. My love to all. Take care and I am looking forward to the next blog.x
sharks and lady boys Well it sounds as though you are having a great time. I was just wondering what scared you most Pete the sharks or night life. Weather here still cold, mum is fine. Have given her copies of your blogs. Love to both of you Rosie xx
A joke for your Aussie friends when you arrive A guy walks into a bar in New Zealand and orders a white wine. All the Kiwis sitting around the bar look up, expecting to see some pitiful Australian from the east. The bartender says, "Yor nut frum arund hier, are you?" The guy says, "No, I'm from Canada." The bartender says, "Whut do you do un Cunuda?" The guy says, "I'm a taxidermist." The bartender says, "A texidumust? Whut duz a texidumust do? Do you drive a texi?" "No, a taxidermist doesn't drive a taxi. I mount animals." The bartender grins and hollers, "It's okay boys. Hu'z one uv us."
Souns like you are having a good time, weather here still awful!!
I'm soooo jealous!! It all looks and sounds fab! How is Pete's tummy holding up - or not?!
Pascal still looks as french and lovely as ever!
Take care
xx

Hello family and friends.
After 39 years of marriage we have now both finally retired (well almost)! And as most of you know we are embarking on quite an adventure for us!!
Michael and Sara’s departure to Australia has given us a wonderful ‘excuse’ to go visit and also to see a bit more of the world.
We will be travelling for 2 months, the longest time we have ever been away from home and will be departing these shores on Sunday 7 February. Whilst we will be in Australia for the majority of this time we start with a visit to Thailand where we will be staying a few days with our f... full info
