Well friends...since we wrote last we have had quite the adventures through Turkey. We were in Channakale when we last wrote a blog. We did go to the ruins of Troy dating back to 3500 BC in the morning on a tour and in the afternoon we went on another guided tour but this time it was of Galipoli. This was one of the highlights of my, Josh's, turkey experience. Its baasically a battlefield where the turks defended thier peninsula from the kiwis and aussies. We had a tour guide who told us all about what happened and we were able to see all the places where this horrible tradgedy occured. Just for some perspective...500,000 soldiers died either on the field or as a result of the batttle ie, infected wounds, famine, hypothermia etc. And it ... read more

Wow, Kat and I were talking and couldnt believe that it had been 2 weeks since we last posted our blog...so here we are. We have seen so much since our last blog...where do we begin...i guess where we left off! We were in Barcelona last and loved it! After barcelona we took a train to Arles france in provence. we stayed in a little hotel right on the rhone river. just outside our hotel window we could see where van gogh would have placed his easel to paint his famous "starry night over the rhone" which brings me to my next point, all over arles (pronounced arl) there are concrete or metal easels which show with a picture where van gogh would have placed his easel. neat. We saw things like his famous yellow cafe....and ... read more

Hola from Barcelona! ...Yesterday Josh and i rolled in by night train to Barcelona and oh what an amazing city it is. We started off by checking out the Sagrada Familia and oh my goodness...that is one incredible basilica. It is a little different seeing a church that has been under contruction for so long and knowing that it isnt going to be finished for another 50 years at least! You get to see 2 completely different sides of the church - literally - as the back was finished before Gaudi died so it depicts the birth of Christ in a much more traditional way but the front of the church is all about the Passion scenes and it is very modern as it has been more of an interpretation of Gaudis ideas...it is really cool...After ... read more

holla from portugal! we are in the train station right now killing time while we wait for the train to take us from lisbon to faro. Lisbon is pretty gnarly. really cool things to see, good food, cheap wine, and its been hot and sunny everyday! we arrived here from paris on the 26th and after about 12 hours of travel we found our hotel. we were able to get a room at the marriot...a 4 star hotel for 70 bucks a night!! so we enjoyed to lush comforts of a 4 star hotel while we were here. we were warmly greeted at the door of the hotel by the bellman after again, 12 hours of travel, of him looking at us with our bags and asking...´are you lost?´ how rude! oh well, we didnt look ... read more

Bonjours!! So we are finally at a computer where we can take our time and enjoy everything. Yesterday we arrived in Angers, a small city in the Loire Valley, and we are staying with a friend who Josh works with's parents. They are so wonderful, making dinner for us and showing us around this adorable little city...but shall we retrace our adventures from the past week?? Biens Sur!! We had an amazing time in Amsterdam...which by the way, seems to be abbreviated XXX...not surprising after having a look around. Although a little pricey, we had the most wonderful accomodations at a b & b where our very spacious room was on the top floor overlooking the Prisengracht...which is one of the main canals through Amsterdam. We arrived by train very late thinking that the city would ... read more

Hey all! Just winding down a very busy day en Paris! We came in from Amsterdam yesterday and have cozied into our nice little cubicle...oh i mean our hotel room...haha...it is perfectly addequate. This is going to be a short one beacause the keyboards here are totally different which brings me back to the pointer finger typing from gr. 3. Amsterdam was awesome...both of us loved the cherm of the city with its winding canals and people on bikes everywhere. Very cool city. All the big museums in Paris were closed today so tomorrow is a jam packed day! Looking forward to it. You will hear more from us about our Amsterdam and Paris adventures once we get to a computer we know how to use and that isnt so damn expensive!! Oh Vive Le Paris. ... read more

Deedle-ee-dee in Dublin - Having a great time in Ireland...Josh and i never cease to be amazed at all the rich history all across the UK... A few days ago we left good ol' land of the Scots, but not before trying some Haggis, Neeps and Tatties...sheep innerds, boiled in sheep stomach, with turnips and mashed tatters. hmm...at least we can say we had it. We had a quick flight over to Ireland and found our lovely little b & b without too much trouble...love the Irish hospitality. Our host's husband greeted us smelling of a wee bit o' Guiness talking of his sailin' on the 'roof' seas (i think that meant rough seas) and called us both Fella's. hmmm...very very nice though. The next day we were out nice and early to see the Dublin ... read more

Aye laddies and lassies! greetings from the land of scotch (swallow...shudder) haggis, and kilts! Well kat and I arrived in scotland yesterday via 2 trains, a bus and one guy with REALLY BAD B.O...ick. What a beautiful city. We both love the towers and skyline of this historical place. We decided to walk from the train station last night to our b & b, because it looked close on the map, however it was a hour and a half trek with fully loaded bags. long story short we arrived and we now take the bus anywhere we go. Last night we tried to go to a pub for dinner at 8:15. we were greeted by a bouncer who informed us that it would take a long time to get a drink but we asked him if ... read more
