In my opinion one of the most beautiful sites of Turkey. A beautiful serene environment with hardly any people, which adds to the beauty of it. It has the largest stadium of the ancient world which houses more than 30,000 spectators!!!! Magnificent! [View Full Entry]

In the late afternoon before we reached ergirdir we stopped off at beysehir for some special maras ice cream made of orchid sap and goats milk. And we also visited a very old and small mosque. From ankara we made our way to urgup, where we first visited the kaymakli underground city before reaching surban hotel and going out for a turkish night full of entertainment! the next morning we hiked the red rose valley and visited the goreme underground city! [View Full Entry]

Long bus journey from istanbul to ankara. Visiting the museum of anatolian civilizations and the next day seeing the mausoleum of attaturk before heading towards urgup. Before reaching urgup we visited the hacibektas monestary and then move on to urgup. [View Full Entry]

The journey started in Istanbul. There is so much to see, that even spending a months time in istanbul would probably not be enough. Unfortunately I did not have the luxury to stay in istanbul for long. As tour leader I only got to be in istanbul for 3 days before I had to move on with my group to the other parts of turkey. The highlights of istanbul are of course the sultanahmet area, where the hagia sofia and the sultanahmet mosque (blue mosque) are to be seen.
