Thanks for the tip, can't be too careful with those buggers eh. Already booked a tour to Fraser Island from a place called Rainbow Beach....population 1050. Probably be there next week sometime I reckon. No black widows yet but seen a huntsman, massive thing!

Byron Bay
Just been talking to one of the girls at work who's just got back from Australia. She'd been to Byron Bay and Brisbane as well as her sister's in Adelaide. Anyway, she recommends a trip to Frazer Island which is just North of Brisbane. Also there's a jungle walk that you might fancy. If you do - keep checking for leeches on your legs and ankles. They inject an aneasthetic at point of entry so that you don't feel them. Then they inject an anti-coagulant to stop your blood clotting. Her boyfriend didn't realise he'd got a leech stuck to him until much later and ended up with one white trainer and one red trainer due to him bleeding for ages..........nice thought to keep you on your toes son. Vegas....
Not a rescue chicken lad, it's a normal car but yeh it's going pretty well. Basically we land in LA and fly out of San Francisco calling in on Vegas along the way. Get it booked son, those poker cards won't play themselves!!

Now then cockle, I'm in the USA from 26th April - 6th May so I reckon I'll be in Vegas around the 28th/29th for a few days depending on the fundage. Be good if you 2 could call over for a tarn reunion. Let us know how it goes......

What model motor you driving?? Roof on the old green bullet is leaking again, pissing all down my arm all the time. With these hurricanes we've been having, I can barely keep the little sod on the road as it is without that distraction. Anyway as they say in the middle east, Dubai.

21Mb is a massive file - It'll take ages to upload - couldn't you just upload a snippet of it. If you still can't upload it, e-mail it to us - it might take a while to attach itself though at that size. I suppose you'll be off up North now then son - a bit closer to home eh! Howling 70mph gales here at the minute so I suppose whilst you're snorkelling on the coral reef you'll be missing flying your kite and getting piss wet through in the process. Very Funny lad
Found this one very funny lad. Keep up the good work! Looking at that map on the bottom corner of this page, looks like you'll need about £300 worth of petrol to get up to Cairns. Looks about 2,000 miles away. At an average speed of 40mph driving 5 hours per day, that'll take you about 10 days rpovided you don't hit any kangaroos on the way. Apparently there's nowt but gum trees all the way up that coast so don't go falling asleep at the wheel. Take care lad and drive steady. Favva

Eh up Johnnyboy Mum here just read your blog, brill photos and as usual great, really entertaining write-up just like you are telling us face to face. What a different Christmas Day for you think me n your Dad will try that one year, sat on a beach supping a beer, beats turkey and freezing cold weather any day.Missed talking to you, but heard you talking when you were on the phone to your Dad so knew you were okay. Nan sends her love says she is missing talking to you so please try and phone her she'll be chuffed to bits. Not jealous at all
Supping lager in 80C heat on Bondi Beach - don't make me laugh. What could be better than strutting round Meadowhall when its pissing down outside and a cool 6C in the shade. Who's jealous? Al tell thi who - me lad. Hope you got the lighting sorted and on New Year's Eve don't go overboard with the booze until after midnight. I've heard that the firework display on Sydney Harbour Bridge is the best in the world so you need a bit of a clear head to remember it. Mama was disappointed she missed your phone call at Christmas - try to get in touch again New Year time although you won't have a prayer on New Year's Eve. Total meltdown of the phone system last year. Anyway, take care son - yet another brilliant blog. Like the "Who thar looking at caption". Si Thi Later. Favva

Now then old son, glad to see your getting into the old oz spirit of things. Not much different to being in barnsley really. Bet the MCG looked sweet, was a building site when I was there, only half of it standing! Like the old cheese e mail the other day, everybody i've ever known who's been to OZ has sent it back, me included!! I've just booked my tickts to fly out, land in sydney on 7th feb, then off to perth for a bit. Out for afew weeks. U still there son, or u in NZ by then???
