Does this affect your beliefs on creationism?

A smirk or two
Hey John, I think the Marine Iguana has taken a fancy to you - is it smiling or leering? - inquiring minds want to know :)... Me thinks the wall was just to keep them busy - I would have cried huge tears! - Sandy

Iguana Country
I think I may have misunderstood the Iguana :). The picture of the Land Iguana shows a very handsome specimen - not someone I want to take home, although quite handsome nonetheless. Sadly not surprised about the comments re: the humans. Rats, goats and probably the pigs, oh my... See you. - Sandy

Unreal! Such unfamiliar landscape to me! It's so amazing. I'm so glad you were able to see this!

It Is Confirmed
OK, now I know I AM jealous, envious, covetous... Of course in only the nicest of ways. I agree, great shot of the owl. I look forward to the next post. You are so good at describing where you are - seriously! Take care... - S

WOW
Awesome! What an adventure! I think I just want to go more now. I had done a lot of research before and learned that some of the boats were not all safe or well run as your experience. It's great you had a positive experience, so I say that I should use this same boat... I really am looking forward to pictures. How very cool!

Hey John. Sounds like you are having quite the adventure. I am finally caught up now with all the entries. My favorite -- the rules for driving. (a working horn a must) Hold on to that camera , great pictures. Your old friend Morgan says HI. He hopes to see you in Sept with Sandy and me. Take care, Jeff

Dad, you're such a dirty hippie. Love, Mego

Yikes!
Never seen that 'trick' with water, but have seen it done with ketchup and mustard, where the 'helpful friend' will wipe off the condiment, while he's helping himself to your pocket. Your Blogs have been great and Ali and I enjoy living vicariously through you!

Awesome!
To see and actually walk any part of the Inca Train is totally amazingly awesome. Do you know anyone from home who has done it? I do :)... What a fantastic piece of history to experience! How about poisionous snakes and spiders - any around? I AM impressed that you are standing and breathing at 14K feet. What very, very cool things to be doing!

Cuando monos vuelven de mi culo
Bro: I must say the elevations are pretty impressive and your handling them well! I felt ill-dizzy at 12k in switzerland and was only at that elevation for a short time. Those local indigenous peoples look like they're short little bulldogs with barrel shaped lungs --built for the mountains! Your having a nice adventure to be sure!! Gibbar Big Cheet and Hasta la vista.

Just like Jamaica
Hola John! Your description of driving in Ecuador sounds just like what we saw in Jamaica. Maybe its the latitude and/or the heat? Hope things are going OK for you.

Wet Feeling
That scam is common in Ecuador and Colombia. Somebody behind you will wet you with water or whatever. I'm not exactly sure how it helps them rob you, but it is part of their plan. THe best thing to do, if you feel wet like that, is just keep walking, and keep alert. In a hostel in Bogota, this scam and others are outlined on a poster on a wall.

Nasty Thieves!
I bet your camera would be worth a years pay for those guys but they would hawk it for far less! Too bad, but lucky you didn't loose it. Enjoying the blogs and photos - have a great weekend!

Loving the blogs!
Hey Uncle! I'm really enjoying your blogs and all of your pictures. The traffic rules you have posted are hilarious! I hope you are having a great time seeing the sights and learning the language. Can't wait for your next one!

Horns aplenty...
I wonder if anyone else was chuckling as much as I was about the Cuenca drivers. I'll bet the sound is deafening and I'll also bet that their blood pressure rates are nothing like the North Americans. How can it be, they let it all go in the streets! ...and you are going to ride your motorcycle there - what is spanish for crazy? Loco? Scary story about the camera (thanks for the tip of reading back - I would have missed it otherwise). I've heard about the need to be wary, though never known anyone personally involved. Goes to show not everyone has your best interests in mind. Gotta' be careful while still being adventurous. Looks like you are walking that line. Looking forward to your next update. - Sandy

Great photos!
Hey John, enjoyed reading about your weekend and the photos of the ruins, markets and cathedrals are fantastic...keep 'em coming ! I liked seeing the indigenous people at the market with their hats. The fruit selection looks amazing. Hope your studies are going well this week. Can't believe it's already Wednesday again. The weekend will be here again before you know it. Are you touring again? Sue

Beverage of Choice
OK, so Hot Chocolate is no longer the beverage of choice :) - Gotta' love a bargain! Critter - really??? As in they really don't have some trendy name like Ilapaca, Pacama or Alpama? Poor things... Glad to see you got someone to take your picture, it marks your spot. I am traveling through your pictures, so I hope you have some other interesting spots lined up :). Take care! - Sandy
