what it's like in the UK!!
Lovely to read about your hot relaxing holiday with the beautiful beaches! Here it's not cold but a bit cloudy and showery. Today Rob and I had a drive to Princetown and beyond, for a walk to Seward's Cross and Eylesbarrow, and then down to the stone row near Deancombe - magical. We got back to the car after 3 hours, with a shower for the final 15 minutes, so were very lucky. Marisa is settling in extremely well in her new office in St John's, as I anticipated. I am very busy trying to get essential things done for the renting out of my house - what a long list! - so it's a good job I have stopped work. Clare and little Yasmin arrive on 8 Feb for a week's stay, which I am longing for. We are having a few visits to the Northcott Theatre this month and in Feb, which is always fun. Have a lovely time, both of you! Love, Penny xx

Hey!
Looks quite misty! Those gates at chequers look like they're begging to be climbed over, wouldn't want to find out what the consequences would be though. Loving the autumnal colours. xx

Been there!
I stayed in Pisa on business when we were all working in Kuwait. I stayed at a really nice hotel not far from the leaning tower. The tower was smaller than I expected. I remember having lunch in my hotel and getting a bit tipsy on the wine. I was on my own and had to exit the restaurant via a highly polished dance floor - I was sure I'd slip and make a fool of myself but I made it back to my room safely! I avoided the alcohol for the next few days. Will you be going to Milan? Wish we were both with you in Italy, it looks lovely. Loads of love Glo (and Bryce) xxx

Thanks again John....sounds as though it was a great walk and the pictures you recorded are great. Now I know why our cousin Joanie in Redruth said we needed to stay so much longer in Cornwall as there was plenty for us to see. I did recognize the dry dock at Falmouth and I think somewhere among my many memories of our 2008 trip, there is one of that.

What a wonderful walk you both had! Thanks for sharing. I loved visiting that part of Cornwall. Love Alex

I love Cornwall!!
Hello John and George...this tour looks so interesting and I immediately thought of when we were there in 2008 and we travelled down to Cornwall to stay with John's rellies. We did a little bit of tripping around in the short time we had available, but there were lots we didn't get to see. I know we did get to Falmouth on one occasion. Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Clock dial - reply
Hi John I'd never noticed, but you're right! It seems the clock has 2 '9's (IX) - very observant.

clock dial
i saw your clock on the A.R.S and .ithink the roman numeral on your clock 11 was shown as 1X rather than X1 . DID I DREAM THAT ? please put me out of my misery .

great trip
Hello Lynne and John...I think the past 4 weeks must have just flown by for you as you travelled around that part of the world. I think the people, as well as being friendly and welcoming, must be small in stature from some of the pics you've featured in your blogs. Can't help commenting about the shoes on display at the market!! I'd be in shoe heaven!! I'm sure there will be a welcome back in Devon for you. x Sally

An oriental wales ha! Looks interesting, think mum should have purchased the buffalo, could have kept the grass down at Golden Oct. Take care.xx

lots to see
Thanks again Lynne and John for the interesting travelogue about Sapa. Lynne....hope you didn't buy the water buffalo!! The local lady who was dying fabric had some very large hoop earrings, and she looked quite small in stature, and I wondered if she was typical of the women in the area.

We're enjoying your blog very much. Lovely to see all the photos- they are making us wish we'd visited Vietnam instead of Bali!!! Hope you're enjoying the food and what's the weather like? Not too hot we hope. We're all well but fed up with our very hot humid weather. Laura is threatning to move away to a cooler climate?? Brian and William have been busy over the last two weekends tiling Thomas' bathroom at the unit - think Brian will be glad when its all finished. Take care. Love Brian and Cherryll

those tunnels!!!
Hello John and Lynne....have been following your tour with much interest as that part of the world is quite intriguing. My cause for comment....is those tunnels!!! My claustrophobia would not allow me to even try and imagine what life was like during the war. The tunnels are what nightmares are made of. Thnx for the opportunity to share in your travels. x Sally
