Another wonder of the world to treasure, John. It looks amazing, and your photos together with great narrative really helps bring it alive for us back at home. I hope that now Mum and Dad are staying with Lynne they will be able to read this also, and keep up to date with your travels. Take care - Jayne xx

To the adventurer
Wow Machu Pichu looks awesome (proper usage of the word intended), like you say I'm sure the photos only capture a small part of what it feels like to be there. Seems like your having a hell of a time and you look very fit in all the photos, I think you were a colonialist in a previous lifetime! I bet your planning your next voyage already. All good here, had Rachel and the two kids to stay, lots of fun riding steam-trains, dressing up and playing silly songs on the guitar and generally acting like an idiot to entertain the children. Steam train brought back many happy memories, you can't beat that smell. Looking forward to your return and to seeing a selection of your photos! Good luck with the mammoth bus trip and take great care. Love George.xx

Where is Paddington's home ?
According to that fountain of all knowledge ,Wikpedia, Paddington left ''Darkest Peru'' after living in the Home for Retired Bears in Lima. Apparently he was sent on his way by his Aunty Lucy. When I am back in Lima I will seek to locate this important historical residence. For some reason it does not seem to be mentioned in any of the official guides. I wonder why? I wiil investigate.

Sorry for typo
Arrived is of course spelt with 2 ''r''s. Must have been suffering from jet lag following arrival. There are probably quite a few other typos and they are all probably due to me rushng out the entries late at night

This is an amazing trip you are having - seeing so many interesting places. Your photographs are great and give us that bit more of an insight into this very different country. As you say they are light years from modern life as we know it. Have been visiting friend Patricia today who has travelled extensively in the past and is very envious of your trip. I said "would you have done the jungle bit" and she said "yes - of course." Not happy to hear of the chickens in sacks, but Patricia says it is a common practice in these types of markets - and worse. So - on a lighter note - hope all continues to go well for you - home will seem like a palace when you finally get back!! Take care - Jayne xx

Poem for the blog
A QUESTION FROM THE MISSUS ... You've been to the jungle And slept near the stars, You've been to the cities Jam packed full of cars. You've seen chickens in sacks And spoken of gold, Of the treasures long lost And the battles of old. There's something that's missing I want to know where, In all of these travels Is Paddington Bear? xxx

Hey Dad!
Wow!! sounds like your having a hell of a time, good job you left mother at home, think it might kill her off! That is a mighty tree you're standing under, haven't seen any like that around here. Do they eat the alligators? apparently they make a very good burger. By tame comparison I saw a seal in the dart today, followed me from longmarsh to the riverside cafe, a very heavy breather indeed. Do hope you're getting on with the fellow trekkers...it all sounds rather intimate. All well here, gig in brum was a triumph, many of the 'fans' excited about seeing us in holland, seems that this festival is a mecca for the lovers of metal. Writing lots of new songs of my own, which is always a pleasure. Saw India, sweet as usual, but of course the center of attention! Thinking of you lots, take good care of yourself and don't over do it! all my love...George.xxxx
