Arugam Bay Is very undeveloped and informal. We stayed at the galaxy lounge which was on the beach and truly fab, as were ices at Gecko just along the beach. I would ask locals about surf lessons etc, is all v informal, but can be sorted via the surf hire shop.
Strongly recommend going, wonderful place!
Arugam bay surfing Hello, can you tell some words about contacts of your accomodation - which resort andf prices? And is there any surf schools or instructors? Thanks a lot!
Thanks, time to reciprocate Right ho then, bags packed, Im off to blighty and the slums of Salford to do my bit to help the natives. Having worked for the NHS in the past I know the sorry state its in. While there will write a few begging letters asking for some donations to help Salford General. You can read about all the great things Ive done on my trip and all the help I gave the strange natives of the U.K in my blog.
Jokes aside, I am sincerely glad your children seem to have enjoyed their trip to SL
Hello from Strourport Hi guys - I've loved reading about your travels, volunatary work, tuk-tuks, food, hotels, transporation, interactions with the locals/other travellers, fascinating places and especially the orangutans. Your Blog is a wonderful record of the times you have had as well as keeping us all up to date. I'm really pleased that you have had such a fantastic adventure. Business as usual here - I'm about to become a Great Aunt in a couple of weeks - not yet ready for the rollers and blue rinse yet though. Exciting plans on the work front - Nicky, I look forward to telling you all about it.
Swanking Sorry about your food.We have just had a lovely dinner in Clare with Kate on Friday and one of David Hanke's picnics on Saturday before A Comedy of Errors in Emmanuel garden by The Theatre of The Globe. Brilliant!!!

Imagine Very glad I can be with you more in spirit since we came out but can't convince myself that Boots is a better option than Beach today. Stay well and fare well X
Thanks again Chaz Hope your painting is going ok - my worst painiting experience was the outside of our house on a wobbly and slightly too short ladder ended up standing scared on the top rung with nothing to hold on to. Hope whatever you are up to is not that unpleasant!
Clearly strong chemicals in the paint though, I have never been accused of always being smart (other than a smart****!)
Joe you are always ... smart!
Thanks for the blog - what a great record of the trip.
You are a wizard in your own right - a computer one.
Ah well, Joe, back to the painting and it is not abstract expressionism.
Take care, Joe, and best to the family,
Chaz
Cheers Ruth It is so nice to know you are following us. We really need an excuse for a family bach to catch up when we get back. Hope to see you anyway as will be in Cheshire for Nicky's sister's wedding, so hoping to come and stay - will be v skint by then!
