Thank You Manuela, It\'s not true that most people hate animals in Albania. Albanians are in general animal lovers, but as in every other country you can also encounter people who make atrocities towards animals and who are violent. We do have an Animal Rights organization that operates in Tirana and a lot of volunteers all over the country but we should all agree that this is mostly a government and municipality duty. This institutions should provide the spaces and the veterinarian service and than volunteers can help. Tirana, the capital city is overcrowded with stray dogs and cats and an organized process is needed. I have saved a stray or two, some of my friend also, but what about the others?.....The poor animals are still wandering in the streets, unfed and endangered. Saving an animal takes money and time, and most of the people are really poor. And after providing the medical care than what...You have to find an adopter. Sometimes it takes years for the adopter to come, sometimes it takes forever and if we don\'t have a shelter it is really difficult because than you have to put the animals back on the street. If a shelter was built and health service was provided, I\'m sure that Albanians would not be so heartless and would find the time to save a puppy and send him/her to the shelter or would go to the shelter to adopt either than by from the pet shops. Thanks a lot Jill and Jenny for saving Teddy. He is a sweetheart, looks a lot like my Lucky. I read the article and it brought tears to my eyes.

Good deed Good deed in saving this fellow but the way you write smacks of condescending attitude toward Albania. Obviously it's either your 1st time abroad or you are ... well, condescending. Not cool.
