Ahhhh Paris!

 Europe » France » Île-de-France » Paris
Sunday I got the best Easter present ever sent over to me; my little sister flew out to Paris to visit me for the week during her March break. I was having a really rough time traveling alone (turns out it’s NOT as much fun as I thought). I pretty much had a break down in Munich and my mom, being the best mom ever, send Kels over to visit me. I got on the first train possible from Munich to Paris and after a long overnight train I finally got to Paris to pick up Kelsey. I was so [View Full Entry]

Thursday morning was the hangover from our disastrous train experience the night before; we had to get up at 5:00 to make it to our 6:30 train, which of course was 30 minutes late. What luck! It was all worth it though when we got into Nice. Our hostel was only a few minutes from the train station, which is always nice when you have a 50 pound pack on your back! We stayed at Hotel Baccarat and it was such and awesome place! The staff was super friendly, and when we got there they bumped us up from a 10 [View Full Entry]

I can’t believe I’m already on my way to Germany, the days are just flying by! Amsterdam was great, but mother of pearl was it ever cold! If I wanted weather like that I would fly back to Halifax! It did remind me a lot of Halifax weather though, one minute it would be raining and the next it would be sunny. It must have rained 3 or 4 times within the same day. But I was in Amsterdam, so I really had no reason to complain! I got into Amsterdam around 2 on Tuesday and checked into my hostel, [View Full Entry]

Ok, so…. Bruges is pretty much amazing! I can’t believe how beautiful the city is, it really looks like something out of a movie. The city itself is so romantic, I wish Chris were here with me! The streets are all made of cobblestone, there’s canals between the streets, the buildings are colourful and Beauty and the Beast looking. The only word I can think of to describe Bruges is charming. On top of that, I’m in fries and chocolate heaven! What more could a girl ask for? I got here Sunday around noon and set out as soon as [View Full Entry]

Had another great weekend this past week, just got home from Lisbon, Portugal. It was fun to get a chance to see another European country and a new culture as well. I went up with 6 other friends from my school; 2 Canadians, 1 Philipino, 1 Chilean and 2 Colombians. We left Salamanca Friday morning at 5:00 am and just barely made the train. As we got to the station the train was already there, but we didn't have any tickets yet. Some train station employee told us that it was fine, we could just buy tickets on the train. I just got back from another adventure-filled weekend here in beautiful Spain, and this was definetly one of the most amazing weekends of my life. I went to Andalusia, a province in the south of Spain with my two good friends James, who goes to Dal too, and Miguel, from the Philipines. Our journey started on Thursday night, we met up at the bus station and took off for Granada. Nine hours and one bus transfer later, we arrived in Granada at 6 am, exhausted from a sleepless night on the bus, but excited for the day ahead! We set [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone! So I know I've been in Spain a few weeks already, and I probably haven't really had the chance to keep in contact with alot of you, so I'm finally starting to write in a blog so that I can update you all on my adventures in Europe if you're ever wondering what I'm up to/ want to become extremely jealous of me. So, I've been in Salamanca almost 4 weeks now and I'm really loving the city! It's so beautiful sometimes I think it belongs in a museum! My host family is really nice, right now I'm in [View Full Entry]
