Homeland Love reading the updates and seeing the pictures of your adventures (nice Christmas cards by the way). Looking forward to more in-depth tales at The Moose if I can negotiate a few hours of your time away from your ladyfriend. Actually, bring her along, we are way overdue for an introduction. Enjoy the final days!
Re-reading As I enjoy a re-read of your old blogs, I am not only going through your experience again but being reminded of my own. Alot of things you mentioned in your blogs now have so much more significance to me because I understand the thoughts and feelings of being a new forienger in Korea that you relay through your writting. I always loved reading your blogs, but I get so much more out of reading them now that I have experienced what it is like to be where you are. I am excited to read more!
That would be an absolutely dream gig! Thanks for the comment man. I appreciate it. Were going to Japan in a few weeks so I'll undoubtedly concoct another one up soon
Monkey Business Great coverage of your latest adventure Jer. You should look into a gig with Outside magazine. Nice pics, very cool sites. You'll be looking back on these entries with some amazing memories. And hi Chanel, looking foward to meeting you, possibly in January upon Jer's return?
Keep exploring!
Long Time No Comment Hi Jer! I have to apologize that I have not commented in such a while!! I have a good excuse: see...your mom is really cracking the whip around hear - she treats this place like a sweat shop - I can barely lift my head. Then when I get home I have to rest my fingers coz the skin is wearing away at the tips from all the typing she makes me do (kidding! - lol). I really enjoy your story writing (have you thought about writing romance novels!). Anyways, what beautiful pics of the Philippines! What an absolutely beautiful country and a lovely resort! Hey, are you able to bring back that lovely gazebo-hut at the resort you stayed at. Just shove it in a luggage somehow, use the straw as handles for the luggage! I would luv ya forever! You would be my bffwahs (best friends forever with a hut-stealer). Anyways, take care, say hi to Chanel and explore explore explore! Do it now while you are young!! That is what life is about :) Anna

One of the Pastors that I work with has a son who is teaching in China and he has said pretty much the same things that you have regarding the schools. He told his mom ( my boss) that he often just feels like the " pretty white boy" because most of the teachers in his school have already taught the kids english, but the parents don't think that the chinese teachers know the language well enough so he is pretty much there to make the parents feel better. He ended up switching to work with the after school programs that his school offers because he feels that he's able to give more to the kids that way.
Sweet hike Great pics of the peaks Jer. Looks like an incredible climb. And that big bell would make the ultimate cowbell over in Vancouver for the Olympics. And it looks like train riders over there make an excellent target market for BlackBerry since you're not allowed to talk, crazy! Keep on exploring.
Fan Club Hi Jer, we loved your last blog - I read it to all the ladies in the office here - keep up the good work and have fun!

Great 3 weeks Hi Jeremy, your past few weeks sound amazing! What an opportunity to climb those mountains! What a view! You have to keep up with the blogs because there are 9 women (including your mother) that I publicly read your blogs to, so keep up the good work coz your listeners are happily awaiting the next blog. I always try to read them with great enthusiasm to the ladies - almost like a bedtime story - so keep that in mind when you are writing the next one! See if you could run into a Green Giant or something (wait a second, you're in Korea, scratch that).
Signed,
The Booking Clan
nice climb! Jer
Love the blogs- keep them going - everyone likes to read them.
how does this climb compare to the mountain you climebed in Switzerland?
Dad
very exciting! I was actually wondering the other day why I hadn't had an e-mail alert come through for your blog lately! Please keep blogging - I love reading about it while I'm stuck in boring Burlington. Sounds like you're having an amazing time. Very jealous haha.
yoo! I will indeed tell you more about the food...I'm eating A LOT of korean food..its great actually. I just received a huge list of all the food translated to English, so I'll get on that soon time. I'll be taking pictures as soon as I get paid and buy a camera!
Yes!! Seems like you're really settling in over there. I like your comparisons to your old job. This definitely seems to suit you more. Teaching grammar is tough!! I don't know how to write or speak... it just comes to me! Tell us more about the fooooood!! Eating anything strange? How much does it cost?
Hopefully some pictures too!
Love, Stuart
It's great to see that you're enjoying it so much. I'm sure eventually you'll feel completely at ease with the kids and winging it won't be so bad either!
Yeah Jer!!! Sounds like a successful week for you Jeremy! Love the part about the kids staring at your like you're from another planet. Where did you park the UFO??
Anyway having a great week and looking forward to blog #4
Great Blog Jer Hi Jer
It's Anna, I work with your mom Janice and she was telling us about your blog. We are going to read it and comment - sounds like you're making out great over there! Good for you - keep up the good work and always remember to have fun.
Anna
Woah! That's awesome that you got a little guided tour!! I don't think anyone was that nice on our trip our Europe, eh? Except that guy in Paris. I guess they're not so used to foreigners, especially when they're 6'4'' or however tall you are! Keep it up man that was a joy to read.
I completed an Honors degree in Business Communications at Brock University in Canada finishing April 2008. I spent all of 2010 in Asia teaching ESL at a private academy in Daegu, South Korea. I contributed eleven lengthy blog entries documenting my time there. Please enjoy, comment, and get back to me if you're interested in traveling to Asia, or just want to have a discussion!... full info
