Last night I met up with Ling in Cambridge, a city comprised of 31 colleges. A real, live castle houses each college! Seriously, can you imagine going to school in a castle built in 1400? Each castle has its own character-- famous alumni (Trinity-Prince William), gorgeous gardens (Pembroke), sinfully beautiful chapels (King's). As you walk up the main street, you nearly always have a castle on either your left or right side. After class with Ling (I've attended Cambridge now!) and dinner in the dining hall (unlike Berkeley dining halls, truly a "hall" with a four-story high ceiling and adorned walls and ceiling to boot), we headed off to play (read "watch") cricket.
