argh jamie... that haggling thing was a mess.
they get really pissed of if you break the rules like that, or as you put it, "cheekiness".
you can't offer 15 and then go lower!
you CAN offer 5 and stick to it, doing the whole walking away thing, as much as you like. that one works, i like that one.
but seriously, play nice. i'm only saying this because it obviously affects you quite a lot when things like this go wrong.
thanks for all the photos! i must send you some of life over here.
looking forward to seeing you again.

Now that I've finished reading this, I thought I'd add that Japan hasn't been involved in any wars lately because they weren't allowed to.
Post WWII sanctions meant no developing a military beyond a "SDF" (Special Defense Force). So, they haven't really been able to go to war really.
America said so.
Then along comes Iraq. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Japan, you could say. Bush sends 152000 troops. Blair sends about 8000. Koizumi sends *1100* ppl. 100 of those are medics.
Do you think they really wanted to do that? So why did they? Yup, America said so.

nice haha sounds (and looks) really great Jamie!
good work with the haggling, although people tend to only discover their real haggling potential after a few months, so it'll become second nature eventually. I dunno, there are good points and bad points. sometimes i'm in somerfield and i'm 3p short in cash, and I get so tempted to just try my luck.. lol. Then again, when i'm in China sometimes i get told a crazy price and you just have to stare at them thinking: "200Y? look, we both know i'm gonna walk out of here with that thing for 25Y, maybe 30."
Good typo, btw! keep them coming!
so erm... where does a sheep and a teletubby feature in anything? don't tell me even the inanimate toys started asking to pose for photographs with you?!
argh... I better get back to work. post the next entry soon so i don't work too hard!
