Hi everyone! Feels like ages since I last updated the blog, internet access hasn't been as available since we left Indonesia and we've been on the go a lot. From Denpasar we flew in to Kuala Lumper which only took a few hours. We stayed at a hotel in the Chow Kit area of K.L which was pretty interesting.... while I was in a shop haggling over the price of socks (true!) Adam was offered sex for 50 Ring git! The markets were a treat too- whole boiled cow heads lined up in a row for sale next to dried fish and some sort of organ. We both did our very best "don't heave" faces and got out empty handed, as soon as we could see daylight= exit! The Petronas Towers were really impressive unlike the ... read more

We are supposed to be in Singapore but we opted to spend a week in the Gili islands and bump our flight off instead! We arrived at Gili Trawangan from Bali, where we had spent a week with Meg & Rich travelling from Denpasar to Ubud, then Tulumben to Padangbai. We had a brilliant 27th birthday in Ubud, first we went to the monkey forest where the boys were mauled by hungry and aggressive chimps, then Meg and I had 4 hours of pampering! It was great, we had 3 treatments each, for just over £30!! We had an hour facial, a reflexology massage and a full body Balinese massage with a honey scrub. Our day of pampering ended with a flower bath which we were both looking forward to, most of all because we were ... read more

Where do I start?! We landed in Oz sometime in May! (getting really bad with dates, days and times!) We were met by Adam's cousin Mike which was a lovely surprise! We stayed with Mike and Amanda in West Pymble for a long weekend and they treated us to lots of fab food made with love in Mike's hosting pinny! Also a hot shower and cotton towels which we have missed! Thanks guys!! We visited Bondi and the suburbs of Sydney with Mike and Amanda and a Huntsman spider for company! Not that we realised but once we did, sometime later, Adam screamed like a 5 year old girl (Adam hates spiders!!) to Mike who came to the rescue! Mike did the honourable thing of hitting it away from the car with a newspaper and then ... read more

We left the South Island in search of warmer weather and hoping to make it to Cape Reinga in our wicked van! After the ferry across the Cook Straits we stopped in Wellington where we spent the night in a local bar trying different beers and playing pool. We went to the Te Papa museum which was really good and free entry which is always a bonus! We went to a Saturday market in the city and bought a few gifts for people at home. Then we moved on stopping at Hastings and Napier before arriving at Lake Taupo. We saw the Huka falls and went prawn fishing which we both found really funny although somewhat addictive! There actually is a technique to catching them, which surprised me and Adam didn't let me forget it because ... read more

Kia Ora from New Zealand eh! We are in Lake Taupo for a few days eh so we have time to update you on where we've been so far. After we picked the van up we travelled west from Christchurch across Arthur's pass National Park then on to Franz Joseph. Arthurs pass was beautiful and for much of the journey we were the only van on the road. We met the cheeky Kia birds but didn't stop long because they started to tear away at our van and the windscreen seal was on the lunch menu! At Franz Joseph we did a heli-hike. Fantastic! Loved being in the helicopter, the views were amazing and the hike was good fun. Adam saw an Indian restaurant before we left so enjoyed the trip but didn't stop talking about ... read more

Hi everyone, Week 1 has been great, really busy and loving not being at home although missing everyone! We spent 8 days in San Francisco, did the usual tourist things like Alcatraz, Coit Tower, Golden Gate Bridge and Park, went on the cable cars and got a ferry to Sausalito. Also did some extras thanks to Lisa and Juan, and George like wine tasting in Marin County and getting drunk in a local bar! (home from home!) We had a really long journey to New Zealand yesterday, were on the go for 40+ hours to get here, spent the 1st night in a hostel after a few beers in a Mauri bar last night. Leaving to pick our camper van up in a mo, can't wait to get out on the road and in the countryside! ... read more
