There's so much to do in this world, too many places to see, and too many people to meet for me to want to stay put. I would love to travel the world and experience different cultures, explore the unknown, meet new people, and help the sick. Traveling brings pleasure in ways that few things can, and for me just thinking about it is not enough.

This blog is my way of sharing my experiences with whoever cares to read about it
(especially my parents-- love you both)

After breakfast my Mama Tica brought Katie, Josiah, Alex, and I to Café Britt. We all really love coffee, so we signed up for the coffee lover four hour tour (highly recommended). The tour didn’t start until 11am, so we had a few minutes to kill and decided to check out the gift shop. When the tour finally began we had approximently 15 people joining us from all different parts of the world (Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Austria, South Africa, England, etc.). It was a pretty big group for low season…... read more

Since it was a Saturday, our family let us sleep in. We had breakfast around 8:30am, and this time it consited of a fruit bowl and an omlet with lots of vegetables. It was muy rico! Rico is a very common word used in Costa Rica, it means rich. They use it a lot when describing food, landscapes, and so on. Our mom made “Puppy Chow” after breakfast. Puppy chow is a combination of nuts and corn flakes (suppose to be chex mix, but apparently they don’t sell that here) coated in peanut butter, chocolate, and powdered sugar. It was delicious and very addicting! We spent a good hour sitting at our dining room table talking and eating puppy chow. It was great. Later in the day our mama drove us to a place to buy ... read more

San Jose, Costa Rica to Heredia, Costa Rica... 20-30 minutes After going through customs, we met a lady (Carmen) with ISA who brought us to another group of kids in the program that got in earlier. There were two boys from Washington State and one boy from Florida. They all seemed really cool, and fortunately they were all going to Heredia as well. Once everyone arrived, we hopped on a bus that took us to our University where our host parents picked us up. Day 1: Mi Casa es Su Casa As soon as I stepped off the bus, my host mom (Gabbie) was waiting for me in front of the school. She picked up Andy (one of the boys from WA) and I and started to drive off. Fortunately, he was able to speak a ... read more
