the roofs at Danang A ridiculous but telling juxtaposition on my computer screen your beautiful photo of the ornate pagoda roofs , below an advertisement for guttering repairs! Life is so strange. I am really hoping that when you return we can all have lessons in making rice paper wraps and Vietnamese pancakes and other culinary delights.
Homeward bound! Hi guess you are on your way home now, loved following your travels cant wait to here all about it:-) safe joureny see you sonn love G & H xx
caves amazing photos, especially the sunbeams in the caves! It really does look like another world there. It'll be such a culture shock for you both when you get back. I'm coming down south on 29th for a long weekend, so might see you then? xx
Hi you two! Hi C&J! Really enjoyed reading your blog and looking at the amazing pics. You seem to be having a great time. I particularly liked the bit where Chris needed to have his hand held on the bamboo bridge? Mind when you cross those roads!
Enjoy your final week. Can't imagine the 25 degrees.....winter has finally arrived here! G &J xx
Really enjoying reading your blog......it sounds and looks amazing! I particularly liked the fact that Chris's hand had to be held going over the bamboo bridge, was it? It seems like a world away from dear old blighty! Can't imagine 25 degrees....it's proper winter here now....keep on enjoying yourselves....and mind yourselves crossing the roads! Xx
loving it I am loving my armchair travelling with you. Even a sleepless night in an uncomfortable carriage is a romantic experience from my chair. That dragon bridge is amazing and the photos of the market and tasty delicacies has me thinking I will go and get a Vietnamese cooking book. Here January is at last getting cold and we can expect it to be zero or below by the morning. Although cold today was beautiful, sun and clear blue sky respite from the relentless grey we have been experiencing. On the news today was a Welsh village that has had rain for more than 80 consecutive days, poor things. Have fun.
Blog Morning or evening guys........loving seeing your blog, hope Chris has been brave and tried some of the fish! Looks and sounds amazing what an experience, look forward to the next instalment love G & H xx

Lots of love G & H xx
Thank you I love your blogs . I always feel as though I have had a trip myself after I have read them. How exciting your adventures just keep coming. However I cannot believe that you have already been posing with Father Christmas, how sad is that. Here at home we have been having a real treat, beautiful sunshiny days (admittedly it takes a little while for the sun to break through the mist) and some days the temperatures have even been in the low 20s. The ladies who lunch had a wonderful walk from Fawley to Ashleet creek on Thursday. After walking through woods and fields down to Calshot Spit and along the beach, we continued acoss the marsh in front of Fawley power station until we reached The Jolly Sailor in the creek. We ate luch outside in the sunshine in with a view of the old mill house and the comings and goings of the container ships and even a Tall Ship across the Solent. It was really lovely. The holiday feeling continued on Friday when Steve and I went to Hilliers Arboretum. The colours in the flower beds are still absolutely gorgeous. Once the evening comes I reach for my jumper and some socks but I cannot believe how lucky we are at the moment. I wonder where your next stop is going to be. I very much look forward to hearing about it. Take care, happy travelling.
Roman baths! I love the scenery the wild and natural spaces, but how strange those unreal buildings Madonna's Inn and Hearst Castle with its Roman Baths.
I can imagine that they might be quite exciting in a hilarious way if actually in them though. It's great that you are getting to see so many different places , happy travelling.
Hi Guys Hello ....... love the blog and photo's what an amazing trip, only a lake & a park wow!! Beautiful photo's, Chris nice pose with the USA flag love it:-) so glad you are all having a brilliant tme xx
Thanks for sharing I am so enjoying reading your blog Jackie. Yosemite looks an absolutely amazing place - your photos are great. It is so strange reading about "Snakeman" and little bars with waitresses in psychedelic tights how is it that we (i.e.. Britain) feels such an affinity with America? It actually sounds like such a culturally foreign place in spite of the common language - a manifestation of our strange imaginings, the fiction of comic books etc made real. It has been an interesting week. So Scotland voted No to independence and one wonders how everything will move forward from here. Dancing began again on Tuesday, new people joined and I think there is a good chance now that the company will continue to grow. Happy travels.
Hello Just read your blog this morning laying in bed with the radio blaring out news of the Scottish referendum. Weed sounds like an interesting place, the man with the snake and the woman with the tray. Sounds like a scene from a film. So glad the Chris is managing to get his ice creams in! Julie went back to USA on Wed. We had a good time both here and down south. Should imagine I'll be down for a visit before Christmas so let me know when you're home won't you. Keep the blogs coming, they are good to read Jackie! Xx
Good morning:-) Hello, love the latest entry from your blog, guess Laurna was impressed by you Kayaking skills Jack:-) it looks like you are having a wonderful time. Loving the blog and the photo's, hope you are enjoying the USA trip, hope to catch up on Skype soon!
Saints 4 Newcastle 0 Whoop! Whoop!

Hello Hi guys, love the blog & the photo's, this week has flown bye can't believe how much you have crammed in! All looks amazing glad you are having such a brilliant time.
Love to you all G & H xx
Lucky you! Just read your blog, it all sounds good. I'm trying to imagine it all. You are obviously having a whale of a time....geddit? I'm enjoying the fact that I don't have to school. Julie arrived yesterday. Keep the blogs coming,it's lovely to hear what you've been up to! Xx
got it Got the whole blog this time! Sounds like a feast for all the senses and your culinary adventures have surely got to be something you share with us on your return.
Chemainus Well the text ran out after "Chemainus is a " so I am left wondering, but the photo suggests it might be an Native Indian settlement that has a waterwheel providing energy ? Anyway it all looks very exciting and stimulating and how clever of Lorna to arrange a firework display in your honour! Seeing the Orcas must have been really special - awesome is appropriate here I am sure. After a few damp days the weather is returning to summer temperatures and clear skies. The road to Westbury Wiltshire today (where we were having lunch with friends) was edged with bright red flashes as all the hawthorns seem laden with berries. It has been a good week. I have made some drypoint etchings with my new etching tools which I absolutely love - the tools that is the work was OK and I am sure will get better, now that I am using the correct tools. Liz and I had a very energetic dance session last Tuesday with a different young thing who let's say didn't seem to be patronising us on account of our age. Liz seemed fine she has told me about her recent episode. We are off to Norwich next week for Rosie's birthday, and have just booked a week in a cottage in St. Ives Cornwall from 17th October. It looks perfect- almost on the beach the bay window overlooking the waves. Thank you for sharing your blog, it is really interesting hearing your news and seeing photos of the different places. I am looking forward to the next installment. Keep enjoying yourself, love Maureen x
I hope that Chris is feeling quite recovered. Enjoy the remaining days in Spain. Still fairly cool here so make sure you have a woolly at hand when you return.
The grass is quite lush and the tulips are flowering early and I guess by the time you return the apple blossom will be out.
Loved the photos of the Alhambra reminded me of our trip there, very beautiful.
Things going well on the dance front , we start in June. Mind I don't know how I am going to dance, I can hardly walk at present having twisted my knee hurrying for the London train 2 weeks ago!
I can almost hear the sounds and smell the smells by reading your descriptions a nd looking at the photos. That olive stall is stunning. Remember to get your saffron before you leave! It is all so exotic, so rich and colourful. Life here is quite differently coloured but nevertheless the chaenomeles, magnolias and forsythias are out and so very beautiful, and although the blossom from the winter cherry trees has been blown away or faded we can see little hints of the blossoms on the plum trees beginning to emerge.
Two little wrens are making a daily appearance in the back garden and the thrushes are busy at the front. There is definitely a sense of Spring even though it has been quite cold this week.
I went on a charity dog walk today, even though I don\'t have a dog. The walk was in Arlesford and was followed by lunch in the huge restored barn with a vaulted roof belonging to Lord and Lady Wakeham very impressive. We were blessed too because it rained before we walked and after when we were having lunch but while we walked the sun shone brightly and it was dry.
Happy travelling.
I look forward to your next blog.
