heather and grandpa at welcome dinner
Food! Lots of it! That is what we have been doing..EATING! A ton. Its wonderful....and a little painful... But it has been a week since i've written so where should I begin... THE GRINGOS Last saturday thirty Americans arrived at the Rtiz Carlton in Santiago, California, I mean, Chile, awaiting a week long excurstion around central Chile building up to their beloved Heather's wedding. Meanwhile, Heahter and Renato take me, Heahter's father, and sisters Tori and Colby to Renato's mother's annual family reunion. Over 200 family members gathered together at an aunts house for a barbeque. Thats a lot of cheek kissing. We got to spend the afternoon drinking white wine with strawberries, eating sausage, and watching cousins play futbol before hurrying off to get ready to meet 'the gringos'. It's day 4...and my first alone time. I have been spending every second with heather- how does she not get sick of me? She sees me in a way no one else has. She says i'm so helpful...but I don't see how. Anyways, I got here tuesday, 3 am, so after we slept (till noon!) we tried to go to down town santiago to be tourists...but we failed. We walked around a little, found our way to barrio brazil, took a picture of a pretty kitty, then just got ice cream and went home. Not really any tourist attractions in santiago, but i'm not really here to be a tourist anyways.
