Ouch! Just checked up on Mukado - and they look very scary - described on one site as 'a carefully constructed crawling, stinging piece of evil', so yes, mosquito bite it is.....
Glad you're still enjoying the Japanese island life - I'm looking forward to heading off to Borneo on 3rd October, although sadly only for three weeks....Madagascar beckons after that however!
Have to find time to come over and see you next year some time!

well done Nick, this was a good blog. It basically explained the island life to a tee. Nice descriptions of the crazy formal ceremonies and the lack of socializing source. I hear you man.
Golden days Oh for a sashimied Chinu! This fills me with nostalgia for the raw island and oops, what was that I just saw? Glad to be in carpetland after all with shoes and socks....

Quality entry bro. I haven't seen some of these pics for ages. Even though i may bitch about it from time to time, the islands treat us pretty well. Nice American Flag cup on your desk. Fly it with pride, haha. The mukades are back in force. I need to get a pair of terminator shoes to take care of business.
nice blog island boy. Cant believe you gutted a fish, rank. Cant actually believe you ate your own sashimi. Urgh. Im going to make a Japanese knife soon. Big Japanese cooking knife thing. it costs ichi man, better not screw it up. Anyway, lovely poignant words.
see you soon.
Another year - You selfish f***er All very nice mate. Good to see they're letting you off the island once in a while! And I'm sure it was nice to see the folks. So I'm taking it as a personal attack that you're staying another year. What about yer ol' pal Alex? Honestly.....
Heat at last! Not sure about that Fascistic looking bus, glad you're back on Ikina. Have you really got hippo's on your island? Like the jacket. Oh and Beppu looks pretty intersting too...

Mighty Oishii Man, beautiful pics. Ze Kyoto looks like an amazing place in the... fall?? I'm not sure if i can even call it that since we are already in december. However, fall is still in full force. We should meet up for a brew and okonomiyaki before your JLPT test this weekend.
are you eating out there? at the risk of sounding like one's mother -the nick is looking terribly thin.. i worry you know.. tell dennis he's a gay icon.

Autumn colours The gold of Zeus' hair, the red of Cruise's tonsils... but seriously it looks fantastic. Can we see the cherry blossom in Kyoto with you in spring?
The Fever Ishizuchi-san was a sweet climb, glad you saw the light in the end and skipped out on a certain other engagement. Its a shame we never got any pics of the Yakuza that we partied with on Friday. The guy only had 3 fingers left, he must have really messed up somewhere along the line. I don't know how we got involved in that. The fever must have been strong that night.
