Expectations Rick, I'll stop moaning about their customs in their countries when they stop moaning about ours. And expect us to change to accommodate their backward attitudes. Not a joke ;)))
The burkha idea is one I already thought was good. Look out for the next blog entry. B looks right fit!!!
Fish i was with right up until the Filet-o-Fish and then your true plight hit me. For nothing but sheer desperation would make anyone eat one of those ! Your are now back in the land of the living from my viewpoint, so enjoy !
Oh dear...Veggies and atheism in one post....Now if this was the forum, I'd be having a few words to say about this! :-)
Jon - "chill out" mate, as the youngsters would say. You go to a muslim country, you gotta expect to see muslim attitudes! As New Labour would tell us, celebrate the differences!
(Actually, judging by B's comments about her massage, I'm starting to think it's about time you made HER wear a Burkha....(JOKE! Mrs Ant! Joke!)
So right Seems you guys are really getting into the Thai nature - sounds like things are really laid back and beautiful. Keep enjoying the sun and we wait for the videos - I've got quicktime installed already and still no joy!!! Such is life, but don't worry about doing anything right now - enjoy yourselves.

Beautiful lagoons. I was enchanted by the beauty of the lagoons, the backdrops are stunning--if the photos are like this, then reality must be mind-blowing.
A MASSIVE thank-u,for sharing your experiences with us!!!
Safe Well, finally ! Sean and I just had a discussion about "Where in the world is Jon and Barb " tonight. Hoping you were okay and able to get on the road without any trouble. Most delicious Chinese dish I ever ate was one with Lychee Nuts. Fermented fish sauce, not so good. Brownies for breakfast, my kind of place. Glad the hotels have been good and you are safe. Be most happy when you are in Aussie country.
Rain. you don't know you are born At least its warm and raining. After 6hrs of delays we landed at Heathrow in 2degrees and snow. At least we managed to get out though, another 24hrs and we may have had to stay with you both for the entire trip. Enjoy the rest of your time.
TV Not that you are going to spend hours watching TV but for news, etc.
is anything broadcast in English ? Or have you become fluent in the local language ? This new place sounds very nice. " Cool People " huh ? Hmmmm....
New hotel Non-fussy is what it means :)).
Plasma screen TV, clean lines, ultra-modern wet room...... not at all 'Thai'. I went and had a look round before 'negotiating'. They looked a bit desperate to have 'cool-looking' people like me and Mrs A hanging round the place so they acceded to my offer.
It'd go down a storm in Barcelona :))))
New hotel 'minimalist' hotel ' Okay, what does that mean as it conjures up all sorts of ideas. Like no bathroom, no windows, one small bed ?
Certainly do not go deep underwater until ears are perfect ! Bad things can happen to you and you cannot afford to lose more of your brain ! Weird movies, are there any other kind ? Enjoy your rainy break, just like home .
Huts Finally ! Someplace moi would stay. Lovely. A proper bathroom !
Reading up about the Karen women, vastly interesting but sad also.
Opium huh ? "In Xanadu did Kubla Khan A stately pleasure-dome decree " This author would have been happy !
"I was woken at 7 am. by a mighty thunderflash."
After all that Thai food, I'm not surprised! :-)
Great-looking place, Jon. That leaf insect looks HUGE - you could get a whole salad out of that.
