Northwest Trek

This is our 5th leg of our "50 states before they graduate" roadtrip and our 5 year/summer. I have also turned all of our trips into books. A hard copy book for the family and I made softcovers for each of the kids.
I am trying this new travel blog this year. It also has a book feature. Phew.

So off to Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Boise, ID, Park City and Salt Lake City, UT. Since we've already been west, we are driving some long days to get to the Northwest faster. One 17 hour day and two 7 hour days. Ugh. We are stopping in Bismarck, ND and Bozeman, MT along the way. We have a surprise for the kids in Seattle. We are staying on a houseboat for a few days. I like to stay in different kinds of places that reflect a bit of the location. I can't wait.I think they will love it.
We are at the tail end of our addition construction over a year later. We love it and we will be happy to not have workers in the house. They will actually be painting inside while we are gone. Hopefully that will be it. We also just finished a week of family house guests (Chicago Houseys and Uncle stone) in town to throw Emily a graduation party and the golf outing. We all cooked and cleaned and decorated and ended with a great party and a great day. Now as I wind that down and clean up after it, I am getting ready to start packing for this trip. I don't have my van though. It needed an oil change and apparently a major repair. They've had it for almost a week and I don't think I'll get it until Wednesday. Eek. I normally start pack now. It's old hat now. I got this. The first trip was the hardest. We are all very excited. Please follow along on our next journey out to the Northwest where we will go whale watching, live on a houseboat, hike mountains, see college campuses and everything in between. I love to know if people are reading so leave comments. On the road again...
