Sooo beautiful! Hey Heath! Your pictures are so amazing! I know people keep saying that, but I just can't get enough of them. I'm so excited to see them all when you get back. That's awesome that you got to go on that sailing trip, I just thought it was perfect for you when I started reading! I know how much you love sailing. I'm glad it wasn't a "cuddly love fest", that would have been disappointing. I'm off to Banff this weekend, maybe I'll get some nice pictures there! Miss you tons and tons!
Love Hillary XOXO
'Survivor' Hi Heath,
That adventure kind of reminded me of the social aspects of ‘Survivor’! It seems like just the social commentary would have been quite entertaining. I am glad you didn’t let the clash of personalities and inexperienced drivers get to you though ;) Your pictures of the beautiful sand dunes totally made me dream of summer (or vacation), however the fish stories kind of creeped me out a bit! Haha, oh well, I know they don’t bother you. Can’t wait to read about your next excursion and experiences!
Miss Ya!
Love,
Aimee xo
I'm so happy for you!!! Hey Heather!!
I kept asking Courtney to hook me up with your blog and when she got this one she did and I was jacked to see that everything is going well for you. I was really sad that I didn't get to see you before you left because I had gotten you a small gift :) I'm in the Soo right now, and as soon as I get back to Hamilton I'll take a pic and email it to you. I definitely envy you right now and am so excited that things are going well!!!! When you get back you have to play my didgeridoo so you better get lots of practice ;) lol... take care and I'll talk to you soon!!!!!!
Cairns Visit: Hi Heather, my timing was a little out in letting Win and Eric know of your trip. I phoned them the day after you had left. I'm gald that you were able to meet with them.
My brother Warren in Cairns will be out of town till Nov 15th. His wife Shirley and daughter Sue who was flower girl at our wedding would be happy to hear from you. Warren and Shirley's phone is 4033-5281.
Keep writing in the blog,
Paul.
Keep going' It's so great to hear about all your adventures. Your mom kindly signed me on to the plan so I don't have to be constantly asking her how you are doing. Heather, you have such a terrific attitude and you are so patient and optimistic about everything. I'm glad your trip is more fun now and as the British say "that your pecker is up". Oh Rich, I said HER pecker! You go girl. Deb.
Gorgeous pics! Hey Heath,
Definitely jealous of you right now after looking at all your pics....considering all of my pics are of the insides of disgusting bars and in terrible weather. Glad to hear you met some nice Israelis...just proves there are some normal Jews out there besides me haha! I'm off to a wedding party tonight for ppl in my class...SCARY! Talk to you soon and keep the pics coming so that I can dream!
Yay Heather! Sounds like you've finally hit your groove with travelling, so happy to hear that you're having such a blast. Seriously, that sounds incredible, with all of the rainforest and kayaking and meeting so many cool different people... and of course bronzed guys.. ;). Love you lots, miss you, but am so glad you're having such a killer experience.
Sounds great! Paul and I are really enjoying reading about your adventures! It sounds as if you've settled in to the world of travel now and I'm sure lots of exciting times are ahead. Nice to hear about the Israelis - maybe you and Amy can do a trip to Israel sometime!
amazing!! Heather! I love this post the most of all of them so far.. I love how beautiful and exotic your recent locales have seemed! I'm glad you're finally starting to have fun too! Thank you for the call last night.. I needed that. love you xx.
Glad you've picked up! Heather, it's so great to hear that you are having a good time. The backpacking sounds really exciting and I have to admit that I am very jealous, especially with the snow threatenting to dump on us at any time. The pictures look absolutely stunning... I'm sure they don't do justice to the areas you are getting to see. As for the 3 days of sand and water... ahhh, muffin! I'd take that any day. Love your stories and I'm glad you've founf your groove. All the best.
Kevin
I am so glad to hera of your great adventure!!! You know I am so excited that you saw a shark, even it was just a sand one. haha!! The places you descirbed sound absolutely beautiful!! I wish I was there with you!!! How is the weather?? Alright, must go to class!!! Love you and miss you!!!
The solution to people like the finnish guys is point and laugh when they do it. Next time they'll be a little more self concious. (Especially the pretty boys.
WOW! Hey Heather! So, I have to admit that I jsut remembered that you set up this amazing idea of a blog to keep all of us back at home intrigued about your holiday and adventures. And I am glad that I remembered cause this all sounds unbelievable! Glad to hear that you are doing well and I can't wait to read the entries to come. Back here at home the cold is beginning to set in, although mother nature teases us and sends a day of warmer temps to throw us for a loop and create more sickness as well. Keep the adventures coming! Love you and miss you heaps! (we noticed that aussies say "heaps" instead of lots when we were on Contiki).
the little things.... Heather, I saw a girl on campus today wearing your winter coat. And she had blonde hair... it made me miss you, and the past 4 winters we've spent together!!!
Its cold here. But no snow yet, so its not even worth the cold (so don't feel like you're missing out on fun canadian winter, cuz you're not.)

Wild Turkeys... Hey Heath, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better; both physically and emotionally (shopping always helps!). Those pictures are amazing! It looked like somewhere I would definitely like to visit. I am soooo jealous that you were able to try surfing; always a dream of mine. I am glad I missed those wild turkeys though:S I am not as afraid as Hill, but still don’t enjoy the beady eyes and pecking beaks (yuck!). I am headed home to the Soo for the weekend, so I’ll say ‘hi’ for you while I am there. Have fun!
Love ya!

Hang in there :) Hiii!!! Live it up in aussie land Heather! I'm glad you hooked up with some fellow travellers, it always makes things more enjoyable. And, I truly believe that Aussie's don't live in Australia lol, so I bet you'll meet a ton more of them once you leave the country! (and they are also going to be just like you--- travelling and all) Keep the photos posting and I will send out my pics once my camera gets shipped from Canada (had to be repaired). Savour every moment and know that Canada's not going anywhere...well I don't know about Quebec lol.
Full of Halloween Junk - Ver 2 (lost connection) Hi Heather,
Sorry to hear you were not feeling well in Bryon. Nice Beachouse...and nice pictures...you should think about photography as a profession. I have always wanted to surf for real...as opposed to riding the surf while standing in canoe. I agree, the taste of warm, salty ocean water, full of plankton and other kritters, can be a bit knarly. Did you partake in any Halloween activities? Halloween in the Sault was Chilllllllly. Despite the cold wind, Lauren's loot bag was even bigger than last years. Your prayer for snow is a good idea, beacuse if it is going to be this cold it might as well be below 0 all day, with lots of white stuff. In anticipation of snow, I will be taking Lauren to the ski swap this Saturday and signing her up for Jackrabbit. Well its back to the keyboard.
Keep Smil'n :) Ken
Freezing in Edmonton! WILD TURKEYS?!?!?! NOT COOL!!! You are right, I would have freaked!! Birds are bad enough, but turkeys are beasts! Eeek, I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it. Maybe I'm better off here in Canada. ;) Well Heather, I hope you're enjoying your beautiful beaches because in Alberta we have about 5 inches of snow and it's not going anywhere...it's -15, feels like January! Brutal! Glad to hear you're still having an amazing time as I suffer with my studying. Miss you tons!!! Love ya, Hill XOXO
Happy Halloween! Clearly I don't talk to Rene often enough (and Rene if you're reading I'll try to improve) but I almost died laughing when I read he was heading a Buffalo hunting trip in Darwin. Random. Aside from that, it was good to talk to you the other night even if just for a few minutes. I'm jealous of your surfing and maybe you'd like it more if you tried again. Who knows. Back to the books. Happy Halloween!
heyyyy Heatherrrrrrrrr
Come on strong girl.. this is so you.. I hope you're having an amazing blast at this moment... maybe drinking a morning smoothy on the beach.. or having a relaxing glass of wine in the evening at a cafe of some kind.. I laughed when I sawthe road signs.. haha I loved that in england.. it's really economical i thought.. a few bucks for paint = less tourists deaths? lol I'm glad you met some people.. and you will meet so many more.. but this trip is about you.. it might be your last time to be completely selfish.. thinking only of yourself.. what you want.. what you want to do.. getting to know *you* amazingly well.. so don't worry about feeling lonely.. because the day you get back, we'll still all be here.. just like always.. so just enjoy your time for YOU.. I know that might sound kind of cheezy.. but it's so true.. god. I should have written all of this crap in an email. Anyway.. I'm thinking of you, pulling for you, so so excited and thrilled for you. Love always, A.
thinking of you! Hey Heather!
hope your trip out of sydney was good, and that you're continuing to meet fellow travelers! - sounds like the people you met at the end of your stay in sydney were great!
im writing cuz im getting ready to go out to a halloween party, which is making me think of last year and our AMAZING costumes :).... tonight will be fun but it wont come close to how awesome last year was!
k, so im thinking of you and hoping you're having a great time....
Love Lindsay
Hi Oscar,
Sorry it's taken so long to reply. You may have given up by now. I'm afraid I'm not quite sure what kind of travel tips you are looking for. It all depends on what kind of travel you plan to do. I'm doing the backpacker thing...traveling around as I want and living in various hostels. I stayed in The Pink House in Sydney and if you read my last blog, you can see I wouldn't recommend it. Good luck with your travels.
Heather
I'm jealous!! Hey Heather!! I'm loving the blogs! I haven't written any comments yet, but I have been keeping up with reading them! And if you haven't heard from her, Nicole too.. I'm glad you got all the money issues straightened out, not overly fun to have to worry about that.. and i'm sorry to hear about the homesickness.. trust me, i'm well aware of what it feels like to be by yourself in a country on the other side of the planet with no one who actually really knows you.. granted, i had families.. but i still understand what you're going through.. its not easy but it does get better! as you probably saw the next couple days when you actually had people to talk to! so just keep having a fabulous time over there and know that everyone loves you back here! i'll talk to you soon, keep up all the stories because i enjoy living vicariously through you haha bye hun!
Always looking forward to stories I could only imagine what you're going through over there without anyone that you truly know well. Much like yourself, I look forward to new messages in my inbox. I come home every night to check my yahoo account to see if there is a new message posted by you. After going to school from 8:30 to 4:30 every day, then studying for hours on end after that, its exciting to hear what you've been up to. Here in London exams are starting to get close so you know exactly what that means for me. Its also starting to get cold; cold enough that playing ultimate tonight involved more than a few snow flakes. Winter is on its way. Have fun in Byron Bay and we'll hear from you soon.
