Hannie: I'm hoping this finally goes thru to you - haven't been able to connect since St Maarten in July! Life is crazy taking care of GMa & GPa - I usually go there every day now. Hopefully Dad will be able to drive soon but I'm not sure he should. Am trying to get into your blogs but I wanted you to know that I didn't abandon you - just couldn't get thru. Maybe your dad told you. Have taken care of Roo (aka Rooster Cogburn) a few times when your dad was traveling. He misses you but he's happy - I can tell by his smile & purr when I'm there. Hope & imagine you're having a great experience! Can't wait for you to come home & share all your stories. Tell Katie "hello & loves" from me. Hello Hannah, I just now finished reading your latest blog, which I enjoyed immensely. (But you were "lying on the beach", not "laying on the beach", OK?). I'm so glad you did not get blown off the cliff. We wouldn't want to lose you! Say Happy Birthday to Katie from us. Grandma and I are going to fly to Florida (St. Augustine) on Wednesday, come back on the 12th. This is reunion time with my brother and two sisters and spouses. I am still in my big black boot and will have to wear it while traveling. Weather here is beautiful right now--perfect Madison fall days. We are fortunate that Hurricane Sandy did not come this far from the east coast. You and Katie are in our prayers all the time. Hope you continue to enjoy your experience and learn from it. Love you. Hello Capetown!
Dear Hannah, I have just now read your description of moving from Abuja to Capetown. You've already had a few tough experiences and I feel very proud of you for having handled them quite well. I am also so glad that you have Katie with you. She seems to be a pillar of strength though I'm sure she looks much better than that in her new bikini! Seriously, it seems you will have more than your share of difficult cases to deal with. But I am sure you will rise to each occasion and be a source of comfort and help to those in need. We are very proud of you. Today is Tuesday, October 9th. Sheila is coming on Thursday and we are having the combined birthday dinner gathering on Friday at Flemings in Hilldale. I talked to your Uncle Ugo earlier today and he will be there also. I think your Uncle Rob will get into Madison just in time to be there. Your Dad and your Aunt Lis have been very helpful to us while I am still unable to drive and get around. Tomorrow, friends of ours are taking us out to lunch, which will be a treat. Fall has arrived in Madison. Leaves are coming down and so has the temperature. Cool and crisp air these days. What's the temperature like in Capetown? Take care of yourself.
