Send pictures
I just had a long conversation with Baby Sam, who turned 10 on Sunday. He was disappointed because he did not get any presents or a birthday party this year. Apparently, the Wild game, Koivu tshirt, Wild baseball hat, cell phone, $45 in cash, Nerf gun, and a gift card weren't enough. He was convinced his life sucked. Perhaps I should take him on a tour of Calcutta.

Fabulous exploration
You grumpy old men are on the coolest trip ever! Very courageous to finish the massive serving of seafood and noodles in Singapore. Still laughing! Do we need to ship an umbrella to you?

Today's 2 cents
1. You guys travelled all the way to Australia to become trailer trash? You could have just headed over to Lauderdale. 2. Of course the Grey Eastern Water Dragon doesn't breathe fire. The water keeps putting the fire out!

Brisbane
oops....some how I lost the first message I tried to start. Anyhow, maybe you can hook up with David somewhere near Brisbane....Queensland isn't too far from there (I think.....) I hope you don't mind, but I am going to forward your blog to him and maybe he will get in touch with you. He's a GREAT guy!!! So if you hear from a David Riggall....just know he's a very dear friend of mine. I think he tried to call you before you left on your big journey. Keep up the good work on the blogs.....they are great! Be Safe! Kathy :)

Did you make it to India and Nepal yet? I thought you will be going there last week or so. How is Loren's health? Hope he is doing good and enjoying the trip. I am jealous but work is work! New job at Oracle started at Feb 15 and there is no vacation (2 weeks first year for first 3 years)... It is HOT here (60's today!!) Enjoy the remaining travel around world!! Vasant

Potty Training
Shelly, if you started potty training in 1967, when do you think you'll be done? My kids have provided me with a good supply of depends that I can give you. It's too hot to pee here.

I agree with Loren
Loren: Although I spent 1967 potty training and not dodging death, I can understand why Vietnam is not your ideal vacation spot. Enjoy your next stop!

Get out while you still have your health!
Well, at least what is left of it. You guys have been sweating like pigs, practically chewing your air, eating God knows what made by God knows who on the side of the road, and now you are playing with snakes. Remind me to never go on vacation with either of you - I'll stick to the cruise ship where all I have to do is make eye contact with the waiter and I magically have another drink in my hand.

Beautiful Lady
Elsa, Yeah, I did want to put her picture in the blog but I have three reasons for not doing so: 1. I couldn't fit it in without a major re-write, 2. I couldn't get fher to sign the internet release form ;-) 3. I just plain forgot -- whadday spect from an old codger?

Photos
Did you have to post a picture of an old guy in a Speedo? As an aside - Ronald McDonald looks like a grown up Chucky. Have a safe trip to Vietnam. I checked Travelocity and Orbitz and I can get you a great rate at the Hanoi Hilton. Isn't the Internet amazing!

They should have warned you
Hal - they should have warned you that 1st graders have an attention span of approximately 10 minutes. I tried coaching a group of 3rd graders in baseball last year. It was tough keeping them focused for an hour, and they were doing something active and fun! Enjoy your penthouse suite!

My eyes! My eyes!!
Okay, boys. The wife-beaters and fanny packs have to go! Hal, do you think if Loren had more hair, he would be less flexible? Maybe that is the key to choosing a travel companion.

:)
Grumpy Old Men- A quick thank you to you Hal for taking the time to fill us in on the trip! What an absolutely amazing Journey the two of you have started!! And even better we sort of get to tag along! (Please tell Loren that he is really being a slug here. I can imagine him kicked back in his chair all “schlub” like with his feet up, sporting his new hat while you do all the work!) Again- Please keep writing as I love hearing about your adventures. Have a fantastic trip and tell Loren we miss seeing his smiling face here at MDB. ;( ! Safe travels !

Invitation to tea?
Elsa, Did I ever tell you that the two of us were once invited for a tatoo at the House of Pain in Playa del Carmen? Didn't matter, we didn't accept that one either.
