India
Hi Moi and Graeme, Thinking of you too (two) right now - I'm painting a series of pictures (acrylics) on a migration theme. The first one portrays Monarch butterflies - those on the east coast overwinter down there in Mexico. I think the first ones leave for the north any day now. We missed the migration up the west coast in Pacific Grove back in 2006. Hope you're still enjoying every minute! David and Janice (More India blogs to follow)

Blimey Mate you off again
Hi David and Mike, Here am I looking out of the kitchen window at my garden, which at long last compares well with my neighbours'. Amazing what 4 inches of snow can do. India eh? I can almost smell the spices on you, which reminds me. I joined a basic cooking class year and quickly got five friends to sign up. We're known as the Spice Boys. A group of six of us are into year two and are in the middle of our French Cuisine course. Nyta loves it. I get to bring home a culinery delight every Wednesday. Tonight is Quiche Lorraine and Tart Tartain. India looks fascinating still. It's years since I was there but from your photos (always a pleasure) not a lot has changed. Enjoy yourselves and keep sending the blogs. Keep smiling, John

Indian cooking!
Hi John and Nyta, Good to be home and eating real food again. Expect a knock on the door one Wednesday evening! Too much snow for golf right now, but we must make a date for later in the year. More blogs to follow - The Ganges, from Haridwar and Rishikesh to Varanasi. Keep doing it! David

Scotland is one of our favorites
You've taken us to some places we didn't visit so thank you. It is always good to tramp around in places others don't generally go.

In Love with Scotland
We love every inch of Scotland and will follow along when we have some down time. This country has inspired many writers. Love those winding roads. If we ever meet I'll tell you the story of our flat tire in Scotland....always an adventure. I love those highland cattle. On our first trip to Scotland I took a photo of almost every sheep in the country. Love the way they lounge on the side of the road with not a care in the world.

Reliving the journey
Thanks D&J for helping us recall this wonderful trip with you, our seasoned birding motorhomers. It was a true & correct report, Michael, at least about the eagle & the dark fluffy thing. We now have the confidence to go anywhere.

Memories
Thank you for the trip down memory lane. I stayed on Mull for a week and visited Iona as part of my Findhorne experience.

The Scottish trilogy
Well big brother, another adventure in the land of haggis and kilts, all written in your inimitable style. I'm still damp from Scotland 1 & 2, but drying off now in Iona's briny breeze! Lovely pics - but where's your proof of seeing the flying barn door and the otter disguised as a mink? :0)

Barn doors and otters
Hi little brother, Put it down to camera problems; broken lenses and sea water! Not good, Next time.

Highland Cattle...
No need to send me a picture of Highland cattle as I was able to get a picture on subsequent visits...of the first ones we saw.

Loved Scotland
Great read thanks David. Brought back loads of memories about some of the places we visited in our month in Scotland. Mind you we made sure we weren't there in August (we went in May) as we had been told about the midges.

You forgot to mention Highland cows...
with their long red hair. We just crossed into Scotland and saw some. My wife tells me to stop and get a picture. I tell her that there will be plenty of other opportunities to take a picture. I will never live down that statement as we didn't see more.

Iceland is Extraordinary
You can sleep when you are dead and birding abounds. I love, love, love Puffins! Fantastic whales. What a great trip you are having. I see you are no longer asking why Janice planned this trip!

WHy Iceland?
It's writers license! We're in Scotland right now and it's just stopped raining! Its a bit like Iceland though very much smaller, there are no volcanoes and they speak funny! DAvid

Great job planning Janice!
Geo-thermal sites a plenty, falling waters around every corner, moss, lava, more waterfalls and iceberg's a plenty. What more could a person want in a trip? Brace yourself....wind, wind, wind.
