May 19-Day 5-Bryce Cyn, Capitol Reef, Glen Cyn, Natural Bridges, Mexican Hat Woke up this morning feeling tired because I didn't sleep well due to the 8,000 foot altitude. Just carrying the luggage to our room was a chore with lots of huffing and puffing. Let's face it, I'm not built like an athlete and even an athelete would have a little trouble in this place. The Best Western Ruby Inn is a very big hotel with a pretty nice restaurant and many opportunities for shopping. It's located just a few miles from the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park. It's [View Full Entry]

No, Pat, we didn't get lost. I was just too tired to write anything this night and the gol-danged internet connection didn't work in our room. May 18 - Day 4 - Las Vegas, Zion, Bryce Cyn The drive on I15 going east from Vegas is nothing but straight road for miles and miles. The only things to look at are the mountains far to the east that we will get to in good time. It doesn't take long to leave Vegas and its suburbs since most of Vegas has grown towards the south. We won't hear a word from the [View Full Entry]

May 17 - Day 3 - Las Vegas Oh Yeah! Another day in Vegas! Temp today will be 101 and I will spend a lot of my time inside. M and I wander down to the gardens and pool area. The Flamingo has a pretty nice pool. At 10am there were many lounges empty which is nice if you are a sunbather. Not me or Marilyn. By 10:30 we were eating our breakfast, taking our time, lingering over my coffee and M telling me how she wants to go look at the stores at Caesar's Forum. So...that's where we headed after [View Full Entry]

Day 2 - May 16 - Las Vegas I awakend to the gentle purr of Marilyn's breathing. It was 7:30am and I felt like a new man. Wow! Did I ever sleep. About a half an hour later M stirred herself awake and we started a new day, through the grace of God. We decided to walk up the strip to the newest hotel/casino, the Winn, and have our breakfast. It takes about 20 minutes to walk in the morning air. The Winn is huge! A whole forest of pine trees covers the front of the hotel. Some of the trees [View Full Entry]

Day 1 - May 15 - Redwood City to Las Vegas We left Redwood City at 8am and managed to find Harris Ranch at Colinga (the GPS lady knows everything) around 10:30am and ate breakfast. Temp was 85 degrees and climbing. I got in the passenger side and let Marilyn drive the next 1 1/2 hours until we reached Bakersfield. I slept most of the way congratulating myself for having the foresight to bring a confortable pillow to support my neck and head while in the reclining position. We found a brand new Costco gas station to fill up ($2.35 gallon)and [View Full Entry]
