Dear faithful supporters, We are so thankful for your prayers and financial support which sustain us as we work here in Tanzania. God continues to bless our family with health and amazing blessings unfolding in a fashion which seen to cry out for His providence. After being in the country for merely a week, we secured a house to rent at a very good price. Brent and Julie had done so much house hunting for themselves, that they were able to immediately point us to some choices. They have so graciously allowed six Jensens to live with them during our beginning days in this beautiful country. The title which appears above is dramatically etched in our minds as we reflect upon some events of the past few days. Our first Sunday at the Kilimanjaro church ... read more

It's hard to believe that we've been in Tanzania for a week. We have been warmly welcomed by the mission team. We are extremely grateful to the Richardson family who has so graciously opened their home to us, until such time that we are able to find a house to rent. Here is an overview of our first week in Tanzania: Tuesday, 17th: After arriving at the Kilimanjaro airport, we were driven to Moshi by Brent Richardson, John Hall, and Christopher Mwakabanji. During the trip, the rains came down and soaked our luggage. When we arrived at the Richardson's home, the electricity happened to be out in part of their house - this time due to an electrical problem in the house, as opposed to the frequent power failures. George put his electrical skills to ... read more

Hello Everyone, Thank you all for your prayers, especially as we made our way to Tanzania. We wanted to send a quick note to let you all know that we have arrived safely. We are all well, and are actually not feeling too tired, considering the lack of sleep that we've had. We were blessed wtih a noneventful trip, which is always a good thing. :} We were met at the airpport by several of the missionaries. Brent Richardson, John Hall, and Cory Hall were a big help in hauling our family and luggage back to Moshi. We are so appreciative of the Richardsons for opening their home to us, until we get settled. Hopefully we'll be able to post some pictures soon. Our love to you all! George and Joy... read more

The last two weeks have been full of activity. We have been working fast and furious, trying to get our house packed up - some things to go on the container, some things to go in storage, and some to pack in our suitcases. Additionally, we have been fitting in Dr.'s appointments, purchasing new glasses and contacts for those who needed them, last minute shopping, banking, etc. On March 29, our container arrived about 8:30 am. It was foggy and damp, but fortunately, the storm that was predicted held off for a few hours. George, Jacob, and Luke, along with help from two church members - Matt Parker and Chris Westphal, and our neighbor, Mike Crabbs, loaded our container. George did a great job strategically planning how and what order things would be loaded. We ... read more

Several months ago our family made the decision to move to Africa in order to do mission work. We spent the month of May in Malawi, and that was a life-changing experience for each one of us. While there, we often viewed things in light of "What if we lived here?" Initially, we planned to return to Malawi to work, but after much prayer and research, we decided that it would be better for us to pursue the idea of working in Tanzania. Well, now it is official! After months of not knowing where we might work, we now know that we will be moving to Moshi, Tanzania! It is simply amazing at how things just seem to start falling into place. God has truly answered our prayers. There are so many details that need to ... read more
