Four weeks ago I put in my resignation and officially sealed the deal on an open-ended backpacking trip in Europe. While travel is an exciting time, there is (as I've found out) many things that can and will go pear shaped even leading up to a trip. As I write this I have my ankle elevated and am following the 'RICER' method, after a freak tennis ball in dark garage incident. This is 3 days before I leave for Kathmandu to do a 10 day tour which includes 4-5 days mainly consisting of hours trekking. Clearly, I'm worried this may alter the first part of the trip, fingers crossed it isn't as bad as first thought.
