You're my hero... ...just wanted to say that.
And I agree about Buck and McCarver. I would have flown to China myself to be able to avoid listening to their commentary. I hate those guys.
Second Thoughts What was I thinking when we discussed that you would be a great pen pal for my second grade students??? Drunken tirades might not be the most appropriate lesson for my exciting activity which I decided to call MARK MAIL! I still love you though!!!
Good cooking school There are a couple of cooking schools in Yangshuo. The original and best is Yangshuo Cooking School which is situated in a beautiful mud brick house with great views over the countryside. You will get to cook 5 dishes. So avoid the bad copies (and the dungeon) and go straight to the best.
a year in china...i can't wait to hear all about it! congratulations on your ability to embrace such a life-altering opportunity.
(as your travels have come to an end, i can't help but be a little sad that i will no longer receive your blog. it has been exciting/entertaining/inspirational to be able to enjoy your experiences with you!)
Incredible. Can and can't believe it and so happy for you. This will be amazing and the perfect time to do it. The "real world" can wait. Good for you, buddy! Come have a drink on my roof deck before you head back out. (And by "drink" I mean scorpion bowl and by "a" I mean many.)

Thai Pad Kee Moa is the name of the dish we eat at Khao Sarn. Give it a try out there and let me know if its similar. Good talk. Go get em'.
QUESTION: What do you think is your physical limit for how many Thai hookers you could have in a day?
home sweet home Ah yes, home sweet home, where we gauged the temperature by the number of showers required to survive the day. Standard was a 2-3 shower day--really hot was a 6-7 shower day. But the magic of the surroundings (when you look behind closed doors) makes up for it all... Enjoy every moment!
I am now officially chasing the dragon! 3 months of travel around Australia & Asia has done nothing but whet my whistle for another year abroad. Now, hear my adventures from the Whore of the Orient, the Paris of the East, the city that's one great big opium den itself - Shanghai! Will a year in China before heading off to USC Business School finally satiate my wanderlust? or will it just suck me in even further in the quest for a new rush. On this last trip, the world only got bigger for me. The more I've seen, the more I realize there is to see. Stick around and hear my tales.... full info
