Got here at last. 13 hour flight from KL arriving at 5:30 AM at a grey and wet Heathrow. Negotiated the express into Paddington and then had to fill in the time until we could check in to the hotel at 2PM. We thought the bus through London would be good but it was so full we initially had to sit up top in the rain. Jetlagged, cold, wet and by this time pretty miserable. Got into the hotel and was pleasantly surprised. Not big but comfotable. We both seem to have a bit of a wog, It can only get better? Only been in the UK for 12 hours and I'm whinging already. At KL. Had good flight with reasoable food, bfast and lunch. Excelent service. Rae had a moment in public toilets! Nothing to sit on. We have found the more familiar alternative in the longe area we booked into. I am having trouble getting photos on to the blog but will keep trying. We finally got through to the loading gate after demonstrating our ignorance by trying to take all our baggage through without first checking in. duh! Beautiful morning with sun rising over the hills, a perfect winters day, sofar. I was a little disapointed I only had a quick body search, he didn't even get the rubber gloves out! Had a lovely day with a family Bbq at Mt Torrens. Got to motel at airport and booked in, It is a small but adequate room. Just charging phones etc ready for tomorrows big adventure. I hope we manage to sleep ok tonight? Thanks all for a great day.... read more
