One day I (Margo) may find all the language necessary to describe the experience of visiting an Italian post office. Suffice to say, it is a sociological event like no other. The agent with whom I dealt today spoke no English and, as often happens under stress, my pidgin Italian completely failed me. However, we did manage to figure out that mailing insured parcels to Canada is akin to pouring money down a hole: over 39 euro for one package weighing less than 1 kg!! So, everyone, stuff is coming uninsured and unregistered but well prayed for, and should be there in a few days...God willing and international post complying.
