Howzit everyone! This is it...the last travelling blog from us! As most of you will know we have now arrived back home to Great Yarmouth safe and sound...and we have been a bit slack getting this blog done, so sorry for the delay! So for the LAST time....here goes!!!! Boxing day morning we were dropped off by our foster family at the bus pick up point in Umtentweni so we could make our next journey to Coffee Bay. We couldn't help but feel sad to leave our new found family behind, they had been so lovely to us during our time with them and we truly felt welcome, what a great opportunity to see into a real African Family Christmas! But off we went never the less with our Banana loaf in hand singing "Maybe tomorrow ... read more

Goiemore (Good morning in Afrikaans) Once again we managed to land on our feet for the start of our African adventure. Back in April when we were in China, we exchanged email addresses with a couple (Delicia and Christian) who were living in South Africa. we contacted them whilst still in New Zealand with a view to meeting up. Not only did they want to meet up but they also offered to collect us from the airport and offered us to stay with them in their Johannesburg pent house apartment! We have to admit that this was a real relief for us as we had already heard all the horror stories regarding safety in Joburg. Our flight from New Zealand to Joburg was pretty long to say the least as we had to fly via Sydney. ... read more

Kia Orana!(Hello from the Cook Islands) To start off many of you may have thought we were going to Fiji which was our original plan, however when we tried to book flights we realised just how expensive it was, so decided on an alternative. Neither of us knew anything about the Cook Islands, and had never heard of Rarotonga before but after some research it sounded like just what we were looking for. This blog will be slightly different from the rest as this part of our tour was always going to be our 'holiday'....holiday from a holiday that is! Believe it or not travelling can get tiring, constantly moving from one place to the next, not that we are moaning or anything as we have enjoyed every single minute of it.....it's just we wanted a ... read more

Ard-out-ay?!! Means 'full on' or 'extreme' in New Zealand, thought we would give you this phase as they obviously don't have a different word for hello and you know how we like to teach you something new. In this blog we are going to tell you about our time on the North Island. We didn't spend as much time on the North Island as the South, about two weeks in total but hit the must see's along the way. We arrived in Wellington in the early hours of the morning after our ferry ride across from the South and as you already know we had a forth member of the Lightning Love Wagon Crew (Andy the Hitch hiker), who made himself very comfortable in the front of the van in a zigzag formation around the ... read more

Hey from New Zealand!!! So we figured we would tell you about each island individually...this does mean that this blog is going to be alot longer than the North Island blog as we have spent much more time on the South than we will on the North.....first off though just to confuse matters, we actually arrived on the North Island, Auckland but made a quick journey to the South!!! We arrived in Auckland after a smooth airport entry and found our third musketeer waiting patiently for our arrival - for those of you that don't already know a friend from back home (Kate) has been made redundant so decided to join us on the New Zealand leg. It was great to see a familiar face and you may remember us mentioning Kate from back in ... read more

GDAY! So we have finished with Oz, 8 and a half weeks have simply flown by!!! We have had such an awesome time traveling around Australia and could have stayed much longer - but hey all good things must come to an end!!! so here's the update for you all. We arrived in Melbourne, after our 'wicked' trip along the Great Ocean Road and got picked up at the train station by our second couch surfing host (in total).....for the purpose of this blog we will refer to him as MR X...... MR X was a mature man at 46 and from initial impressions we thought we would get on....that feeling soon died! We entered his house and within the first 10 minutes he told us that the world was going to end on Dec ... read more

G'day mate! (sorry but it had to be done!!) So we are a little behind on our latest blog entry and have lots to tell you all to get you all up to speed!! As you all already know we are now in Australia where we are traveling for 8 and a half weeks, so far time has gone very quickly and we have seen and done so much!! The Oz adventure started in Perth airport when we were chosen as the special two to be interrogated by customs! First came all the general questions "what are you doing in the country?" "how did you finance your trip?" "how much money have you got?" "what jobs did you have in the UK?" etc etc.....after a 10 minute discussion we were free to get our bags only ... read more

A big Singapore hello to everyone reading! Singapore doesn't have its own language as it has so many different nationalities living there so the common language is English! We figured we would do a short blog to tell you about our two days in Singapore and to say goodbye to Asia, all in preparation for our fresh start in Australia where we will be traveling for the next 8 weeks. First off Singapore...so the good news is that we managed to block Ami up enough to get her on our free flight courtesy of Air Asia (they gave us vouchers when they delayed one of our previous flights), and we finally arrived in Singapore after yet another night of sleeping in the airport, on the floor this time! We quickly got ourselves onto the metro and ... read more

But hey ho we did our best and still got to see and do some amazing things, so here goes! We flew from Malaysia straight to the island of Bali where we were meet by two official looking men carrying our backpacks on arrival, telling us to follow them, we thought we were being questioned by customs...after A few minutes walking they put our bags on the floor, held out their hands and asked for a ... read more

Selamat from Malaysia! So we have just completed two action packed weeks in Malaysia where we hit 6 different locations and managed to get a good feel for what Malaysia is like. On the whole Malaysia is a very modern country, (the only difference is the open drains, which you wouldn't expect but must have something to do with the monsoon). Malaysia is quite unlike most of it's neighbour's we have seen so far, it was strange as you could even feel the difference on the roads as you crossed the boarder, bumpy roads - see you later! Malaysia is heavily influenced by other cultures and has a massive Indian and Chinese population, which naturally has a knock on effect to its cuisine. First stop was GeorgeTown, which to be honest we really didn't get ... read more
